RE: ESM JU-87 Stuka-Winter Camo Kit
Ive got a saito 150 in the B version im working on. As for CG, I believe the other thread mentioned the manuals listing of 135mm was too far aft making the plane tail heavy.

Going to move the CG to 120 mm..will test fly at that CG..Will be awhile before mine is finished...if I need some weight, will put a reduntant system, which means an extra battery up from ( using NIMH 2000 ma), and go from there...here are some pics of before and after on hiddening my mistakes on the inner flaps...That extra peice of covering that I removed from the bttm of tne wing ( where the flap servo went) cut to shape the small peices and ironed them on ,at low heat to cover my goofs....also are the radiators glued in place...more later as I progress

Dont feel bad, I made similar goofs on the middle wing section too....and like you, used the cutouts from the servo pockets to cover it up.

That's one reason that I have been grateful that I chose to heavily weather my plane. When I make a goof, I just use it as a weathering detail. I really screwed up something on one of the inner flaps. I initially got upset about it but then turned it into simulated flak damage.

Lookin good Jimmy...I went flyin yesterday and made some landings with the flaps on...It didnt pitch up or down, it just made for a prettier and slow landing...

Have made several changes to the fuel system...have moved the fuel tank forward as you see in the pictures..also mounted the engine and spinner(Big,huh)...Don't know what color I'll paint it....Fuel draw was 17" from back of tank..by moving it up,it's only 10" now...fuel tank is sitting on a piece of ply...the area behind the tank is reinforced with ply...thats where the 4-40 screw is....it hols everything in place`...also the reciver is mounted where the tank use to be....Throttle is set up too....am planning to use a Saito flex tube w/ nipple for the muffler...
Here are some pics..........

I used a saito flex pipe muffler on my saito 150 also. I cut off the pipe not that much after the pressure nipple lcoation so its all neatly within the lower cowl section.

Going to pick up my flex tubing today.....will install it on the engine also...those marks on the wing saddle is where my CG will be...120mm and i picked up the fuse at that location and the model(Fuse only), and it's nose heavy...maybe i won't have to add any weight when it's all put together checked on my CG location...OK,it's back to the work room..................................

Suppose I can say why I didn't get the gasser is because I don't feel I needed it and am retired, so I gotta watch my $$$$..the spinner I got from Dave Brown products weights 9-1/2 ozs.......I do beleive by moving the fuel tank forward eliminated some of the weight problems I might have when I put it altogether and check it at the CG for flight...Hopefully I'm right....

Don't think I'd cut any of that flex muffler off...going to install it on the engine and I'll take some pics of it to show how I did it...going to the hardware store and see if they have a clamp that I can use to attach it to the bottom of the plane...will send the pics later...BTW,am going to use a Zoar 16-8 prop..Believe it's a little stronger than a Zinger prop.............................................. ...later

Here's some pics...including the flex pipe and where i cut it after the pressure tap. Please keep in mind, this is the B version of the Stuka, so the lower cowl portion is a different size and location. On mine, the engine is completely covered, except when viewing from the front. so theres nothing sticking out the bottom.

Here are some pics of the muffler completed...cut the tubing off so it was even with thw rear of the cowl..also cut off the end and then grinded the inside of it out until it fit on the tubing...Glued it back on with J-B Weld...hope it holds...put glued a piece of 3/8" ply inside the fuse to hold the muffler and clamp on...Used a # 8 sheet metal screw the attach the clamp....So far, so good..............

You muffler setup looks good. The lower cowl bulge on the D version is farther back then on the B version, so I can see why you had to keep a certain amount of length whereas my flex pipe muffler tube only needed to be about 1-2 inches long after the pressure tap location.
As for a gun for the rear canopy, I picked up some 1/6 german gun packages from Walmart several months ago. Yeah I know....walmart????
Its the Ultimate Soldiers 1:6 WWII German MG-34 weapons set. You could probably do a search for that or check Toys R Us as well
