I just noticed tower dropped the price of the P-40 to $481.81.
This morning now listed at 452.33.

Odd price numbers. I wonder if they're trying to sell and close out the product.

$437 now, and if you throw in the $50 discount that get it into real tempting range to pick one up for spares

Hey guys. I have a gaint scale p51, P47 and ESM Corsair

I have been wanting a nice P40, had the 120 size from CMP that I loved but it was very old and used and on its 2nd flight checking CG inverted the wing dowels riped out and the wing came off

So except the price of the retracts are there any othere issues with bird?

I really like the fiberglass ESM P40 but this new tower price is crazy

Would you buy the TopFlite again if yours crashed or would you go with skyshark, ESM?

Thanks

I too am thinking of ordering another (JIC) and put a DLE 55 on it.
I have a G62 that flies it really well, but have gone up against one at Muncie Warbirds (IWC) and got my but kicked.

New price $422.85, I haven't even built the first one yet. But at that price I might just buy another one for parts. Really gets you wondering if they are trying to liquidate for the plane to be discontinued.

I have another one coming also. Shipping was $85 to CT. That is about what I figured, UPS isn't cheap. Now $80, 200 miles away, can't figure that one out. [X(]

You have the wrong prop then. LOL

I'll put my G-62 up agianst any 55 or 60. This weekend I out ran a DLE 55 with the same prop as my 62. he was eating my dust.

thats funny the two p47s that were behind me had g62 in them. HMMM.. Anyways we were doing big loops and stuff so i like the 22x10 better for that. if i would have put on the 20x12 it would not have been a contest.

If they are running 10 pitch props then It's not a contest. You have to have at least a 14 and be able to turn it over 7600 on the ground to keep up with my T/F stang

I am running a 20" 8/14 pitch prop
Another guy in my club has TF (kit built) 51 with same combo
G62 and same prop
He has to fly three clicks below full throttle so I can keep up with him and he has been clocked at 105 mph.

If you want to go fast (125+) Call APC and tell them you want a "T-6 racing prop". They are $25 and made exspecially for the G-62 to go fast. but you have to call them to order it.

My Mustang has been clocked at 138mph in a slight dive last fall in Fayetteville NC at a Warbird fly-in on a cool day.

Flying fast isn't everyone cup of tea but, I love it and so do alot of spectators.

I am really considering buying one and sitting on it until I gather up all the required goodies to go with it. Hard to beat the price.

Try your local hobby shop. Often they will match Tower's price. Mine beat it and did not charge me for shipping.

They have to be getting ready to discontinue it. It is over $100 cheaper than the P-51, and hundreds less than the other two ARFs. Heck, its only 8 bucks more than the .60 size Corsair ARF. With a price like $408.11 it seems like they might be cutting their margins to minimums to end up with 11 cents in the sale price. That is an odd number for Tower.
