DON SMITH KI-84 MAIDEN FLIGHT!!
Hello!!
Entirely scrachtbuilt from a Don Smith set of plans [no laser cut parts]...the big frank weighs 26 pounds+saito 300 twin for power [apc prop 22x8].... took off saturday morning and the ki-84 is very stable .No bad tendencies at all.

It's a 1/5 scale airplane....88inch of wingspan,the fuselage is 73 inch long. It took 2 years to built.My next scale project will be a fw-190 a-8 again from DON SMITH PLANS.

the saito 300 [single carb] is more than enough power for this 26 pounds ki-84....it turns an apc prop 22x8 at 7,200rpm.....it took 2 pounds of lead in order to balance the FRANK.
