To my knowledge Darrell is working on the Wildcat gear now. In fact he couldn't make it to WOD due to the work commitment on the gear. Perhaps you might give him a call and check on the status of the gear.

Wow it does take time time to research, get prices (still waiting) and find all the parts for a big warbird. So far no luck with the Wildcat or the LA7, no price for a 3W bearcat so it looks like the CARF Cosair is moving to the front of the list. I will get something ordered in the next 7days...I just have to to

Hey dos007

Go for the Wildcat. It is the most steady planform of all the rest you have mentioned. Keep in mind that the Wildcat is a "middle wing" type of aircraft and this gives the best result in stability while it is taking off, flying or landing. The money involved in picking this engine, doesn't leave room for errors in picking the right planform to use it. The plane must be a stable and smooth flyier like the wildcat is.
