Folks, summer came and went and its time to get this 152 ready for flight.
Paint had been going at slow but steady pace and soon the markings will be done and weathering will start.
Paint scheme will be Green 9, Willi Reschke's mount with Jagdgeschwader 301 and 302.

Oh yeah... Beautiful! Was the heat gun used to cure the paint faster?

Ramstein, what a sharp eye! yes i'm not that good painting and sometimes I shoot too much in one spot the heat gun helps dry to prevent runs.

Yep, use the heat gun here as well! Looks great. Hope to see video of the flights. Which engine was chosen again? DLE 55? That is a great engine.

We had a warm weekend and more painting was done. The bulk is done, now the rest of the markings, nomenclature and weathering which has started on the supercharger lip. Chipped paint can be achieved by pulling with masking tape.

Now that the paint is pretty dry, engine test will start, hopefully the Oregon weather will help!@

Happy 2015 everyone!

The Ta152H1 build is officially over, even though it will never stop upgrading.
3 years in the making, all the main components have been molded ad all the wood is laser cut.
Now waiting for the nice North Western weather to cooperate so we maiden.

Thanks everyone for the support.

Very nice Jose, congrats on finishing the plane. Im always inspired by your efforts. Im looking forward to your flight video!
I wonder with so much wing what she will land like. This plane will be fun on windy days to pull power back and fly in the wind. Its like a scale sailplane! Lol

good job my friend

Hey Chris,

thanks for the support. This will fly like a big trainer, the huge flaps will help for landings though.

Since I based it on the Fw190 that I flew before, I know this will be much easier to fly in a way.

By the way, give me a call when able, lost my cell phone contacts.

Hallo Jose,

May I ask what servos has been used on flaps and elevators?
I know ailerons are driven by HS-125MGs

Ta-152 builders, here is an update on the inner gear doors: I'm now using the spring down/up and striker system close to the full size design. The spring goes over center to open and close but the wheel keeps the doors from opening in flight. The striker is made of a .50" K&S brass strip.

HS125MG on ailerons 49oz torque? Is there any room for a standard size servo? If space is of concern I would use the MKS-6125 slim servo, no slop and 91oz. Ailerons being way out there, you may not need the torque but I feel the HS-125 has too much slop (IMO). With the long wires hopefully you are using 2 RX packs and 2 switches.

Your TA looks fantastic! Cant wait to build one.

190,
I have a bit of concern about the slop more than the torque so i will be replacing the aileron servos. I did a search for the MKS-6125 slim servo but nothing was found! It's a very tight fit for a standard servo in that part of the wing.

Thanks!

Sorry Jose, I meant MKS-DS6125.

Will a mini size servo work as well?

Or maybe something like this? https://www.servocity.com/html/hs-52...l#.VMkye2dATcs

I still need to order my servos for my TA 152.

Looking forward to flight reports.

There are thin wing digital servos from JR and Hitech RCD. Whats the pocket depth in the wing Jose?
