Chris,

The MKS is a pretty good servo, not cheap though.Hitec has another thin servo that has more torque as well. attached the rib section.

Ta152 maiden flight report:
After many cancelled trips to the field for various issues with engine, retracts, tail wheel, etc. the moment of truth came Sunday the 1st.
This amazing airplane just flew off the grass runway before I had the throttle all the way!! CG at the plan location it seemed a bit touchy on pitch but it may be due to not enough expo. Trimmed nose down a few clicks and a click or two of left aileron.
Mostly flew 5-6 minutes at half throttle to check the feel and see how it behaves with gear up and down.
The landing was pretty un-eventful with partial flaps only!
I'm now waiting for pictures an video from a couple of guys at the club.
I can say this is an awesome airplane!

Pics to come in the next day or two.

Here is green9 after the flight.

How effective were those big flaps? Also, how did the landing feel? I am guessing very smooth.

I only used partial flaps for landing, I will be doing some more trials with full flaps this weekend, weather permitting.
Landing was much easier than expected! I hope my field buddy shows up with the video.

Andersen told me he could thermal his at idle. So, it may have somewhat of a glider feel, even though it is a heavy metal warbird. also depending on the wing loading. DO you know how much yours weighs?

I have no record with DLA. But starting to hear good things about them, I might try them out.

What is the diameter of the cowl in the closed position?

It appears to fit except for the spark plug caps or maybe angle the motor for the spark plug to the dummy exhaust.

I wished they made the sparkplgs at an angle like the XYZ 53 engine.

Saito or some other brand should make a V twin like they did before but with more displacement and for gas. Inlines are too long so the V design lets you nest the cylinders closer. A three cylinder would be awesome in a V design.
