Do none of you guys know about the Hobbyking 89" composite spitfire they offer? Ive got a set of the retracts for that plane and they're are actually pretty stout and rather scale ......and only $160.
Plane(usa warehouse): http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...arehouse_.html Retracts(global warehouse): http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...l_Bracket.html Gun package(european warehouse) need two sets of them one per wing: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...x_1_Wing_.html |

I guess I purchase my BT a week too soon. http://www.top-flite.com/airplanes/topa0708.html One thing I would love to see Top Flite and other ARF maker do is to make one as in the picture and one that let us do the finishing. I know people will buy this and do a re-coving job, ( I for one )!!! I still would like to see more pictures and a video before I write it off. For now I will go with the EMS Spit. Note they did not have a price on it, but I am thinking it will be around the price they have on the FW-190!! If that is the case, than for me, it will be the EMS 72 Spit!!!:D Sonny aka jet22b |
RE: Spitfire Brotherhood (All Spitfires Welcome)
kahloq,
Do you have the HK retracts? How are they? I was looking at them for my BT Spitfire. |
RE: Spitfire Brotherhood (All Spitfires Welcome)
Yes I do have the HK retracts. They are good in my opinion. I showed them to a 30+ year flyer and he wants to buy them from me and has spurred him to purchase the HK spitfire.

That was a sweet video!!!:D The smoke system was so cool!!! Now I will have to look at the 50cc size EMS Spit!!! Looking at the way he drop that 55cc up front with not a lot of mod to the cowling!!! Thanks for sharing!!! Sonny aka jet22b |

Hey, nice job on the video! Good flying and I like the smoke. Looks like the DLE55 is a good match for that plane.

RE: Spitfire Brotherhood (All Spitfires Welcome)
I have a 72.5" ESM Spitfire. It shows two canons in the instructions but none came with the kit. Does anyone know where I can get a set or can give me the diminsions to make a couple? I may try mounting LED's in them like the video. A friend says he has seen this done on a F-86 and it really shows up like the video.
Thanks in advance. Spitfire Brotherhood #45 |
RE: Spitfire Brotherhood (All Spitfires Welcome)
Almost bought a H9 Spit but had a feeling that TF would bring an ARF out, glad that I didn't. Now I just need to wait on the 60 sized version!

I received my BT Spitfire kit and its very nice. What gas engine would be good for this? I was thinking DLE 35RA, DLE 55RA or should I go bigger like ZDZ 60? I would like it to fit inside the early Mk cowl without chopping it up. I'm going to have lots of questions on this build should I start my own build thread or post hear?

Elevators and horizontal stab frame up is finished except for final sanding. I always save that for the very last thing. If i were to finish sand now i would be filling dings before painting. :D Vertical fin is started and ready to sheet one side. I did re-cut the TE of the fin, the kit wood was like a rock. [:'(]

Hi brothers,<div>I am trying to find out what rear view mirror the Mk II had.</div><div>Round or Rectangular?</div><div>Does anyone know the dimensions of the originals perhaps?</div><div>I have made a prototype round mirror out of balsa and a scrap piece off an</div><div>old car mirror.</div><div>By the way don't work on a perfectly good mirror just in case it cracks, if you know what I mean. :D</div><div>

RE: Spitfire Brotherhood (All Spitfires Welcome)
Early model Spits of MK 1 & II during Battle of Britain used rectangular mirrors. The late model MK IIs are where the round mirrors begin to be used. I got the info off of the SPITFIRESPARES.co.uk web site.
