Thanks, Gary.
As usual, I'll be watching your Zero build (keep up the excellent work).
I have four other built planes that are almost RTF but would take from one to two weeks to prep:

top flite F4U, Quadra 75 (a little over powered but it's very heavy for an 86" plane)
BVM F86 Fury: needs conversion to turbine
Palmer F8F tigercat: 83", has a couple glow engines.
Yellow P-38 lightning, G-38's (my favorite plane when I was a kid).

==============
Here's a picture of my buddy Paul Westrich Ziroli SBD dauntless that has a twin 3W-70.
He bought it from a pilot that does excellent construction work.

I liked how the builder installed the servo hatches: no screws, just thin G10 with some raised thin tabs on each end that slide into the wings surface. A hook wire is inserted in a hole in the center to bend the hatch and it pops out. Pretty cool.

May 26/27, warbird flyin at Evansville RC club in Evansville, Indiana
230 miles

This was my first visit to this club, and had a great time.
It's always fun to fly at a new field and establish new pilot friends.
Talked mostly with Tony and Scott but also met several other pilots.
The club owns their own field; about 14 acres with just farm land surrounding the area.
About a 500' long concrete runway plus grass.

Thanks Sam. We had a good time with you and everyone enjoyed your planes very much. We had 25 registered pilots for the day,and no accidents. Thats always a plus. You are always welcome to our field at anytime the gate is open. The pictures look great too.

Americana on the trip to Lansing, Michigan.
The sign over the entry reads 'infirmary' in a small town (probably, now, used for some other purpose).
The 'off roads' that used to be the 'inter-state' highway are excellent with many having long stretches of double lanes (both ways).
The mid-west is, virtually, all farmland.
A small pocket of Amish live in Indiana (white house): easy to spot their residence since no power lines go to their property.

Scott,
All signed up for both events.
Presently, working on the new wing conversion to electric on the F4U.

========
June 7-9, Warbirds over Georgia at Mac Hodges place in Andersonville, Georgia.
630 miles.

Mac's place is just down I-75 from my place: I only live 2 miles from I-75 and Mac is about 30 from I-75 (it's that 600 mile stretch of I-75!). Last week, it was through the 'bread basket' of America, this week, it was through the oldest mountains in the world.
I got there two days ahead: traveling that far, might as well make it a long stay!
Got 19 flights in on five different airplanes (all safely!!).

Mac Hodges probably has one of the best multi-day facilities available: an all grass, full size, runway.
A large metal roof, open sided building in the pit area. Power/water for trailers/RV's. A huge building with 20' doors on both sides for evening plane storage. Plus, a hobby shop that has just about anything you need for those, not so fortunate, landings!

I tried to get lots of pictures of pilots with their planes but I missed several (actually, a lot!).

New pond dug out, this year, and not enough water, yet, to get the grass growing.
Mac doing some touch and goes on his runway.
Bob Walker.
Jerry's 120"(or so) AT-6 with Moki 250.

Sam, Thanks for all the pictures. You always do a great job of it. I can't tell you how great it was to see you again. Quite a nice surprise considering I didn't think our paths would cross this year. Flying with you and Carl was just great. Mac is the consumate gentleman and humble host. God just isn't making them like that anymore.

Thanks again for your effort within this thread. I had too much selfish fun to take pictures. Thank God for you my friend.

All the best!
Scott
