RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF
ORIGINAL: Merlin Man Hi All, I have had a quick look through this forum and can not find any mention of using a radial Moki or the like ? Has anyone considered fitting one of these motors ? Do any of them fit or are they suitable. I just love the sound of those Mokis !! Thanks, Merlin Man. The mokie 150 will not fit i checked for a freind with the one i have. the motor also is 11 lbs. i am sure you could split the cowling and make room, but im not sure i would put that motor in an arf that is this lite. Just my OP. But with thast said i would love to see some one do it.:D |

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF
Many new FW190ownersmay not be aware of this fact? The engine mount bolt pattern "X" identified on the fire wall for the DA-50, OS GT-55 and DLE-55 aregood to go.
If you plan on installing the newDLE-55RA, the engine mount bolt pattern is totally different. You will have to measure from the cross hair and drill holes in different locationsto mount the DLE-55RA. The DLE-55 = all 4 bolt holes are 80mm apart horizonally and 67mm apart vertically. The DLE-55RA = top 2 bolt holes are 70mm apart horziontally. 67mm apart vertically = bottom 2 bolt holes are 90mm apart horizontally. Roger |

ORIGINAL: tfarmer96 Ok Ram your paint mask kit is ready to go. By the way thanks for sending over a pic of the plane that helped a bunch. Probably will go with the same set without the nose art and change the number to 17, and the fuse cross will be more like you have on your monster Wolf. Well I guess its not exactly like that set.:D Thanks Terry |

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF
Looking at the new DLE-60 twin and found if you locate the engine plug on the port side into the bulge of the cowling,(rotate the motor aprox 20 degrees) and slide the motor off center to port 5 mm, the entire engine WILL fit in the cowl completly. You might have to shim the port side very slightly to make it work. The starboard side will not need to have a relief hole cut into the cowl, that would be in the middle of the black bird head anyway.
The right thrust built into the fiewall will be perfect for that application. With the stock mufflers off, then just adjust your final cowl position. Cut mufflers off to 1/4 higher than flush on the cowl, and your done. Baffel all air to the fit of the cylinder heads. I would try it before you get the tail on permanatly. It can be done boys... I have seen this plane fly with this engine combo, and it LEAPS into the air. You will be able to take off at half throttle in a very scale manor, with a nice 3 blade 22 or 23-10 carbon fiber propeller of your choice too. Rebel |

I can make a hood for this bird. It's just a little work to make the plug. :/
