Zirolli Stuka siren mounting

I just received my I4c siren in the mail today. It of course is going on my Z. Stuka. Instead of reinventing the wheel , how and where are guys mounting your sirens?

Where did you get the siren? Been looking for one myself. I installed the siren in the front of my bomb. Alot of guys like to drop bombs so this wont work for them. Being in the front of the bomb gives the siren direct airflow, the faster it turns, the louder it gets, plus it hides it. I painted mine OD green to match the bomb so its hidden from sight.

I got lucky I guess. NIB I4c . I made a play for the one that Spychella was selling and a gentleman came on and offered the one he had forsale. Do you have pics of your setup? Is it disguised as a bomb or just in front of the bomb?

Hi Tony,
They mount sirens on police and rescue vehicles that's why you don't know where they go. LOL Tough driving a Stuka on city streets
Later,
Fred

It was both, in the nose of the bomb and disguised as the bomb. I believe the best picture you will see is the August edition of Model Airplane News. They have a great 1/4 page shot of it taking off. Unfortunately after 16 seasons, she's no longer with me anymore. She destroyed herself in Fredericksburg VA. over the Memorial Day weekend. My new Stuka fly's great, but not the same without a siren, thats why I'm looking for another one.

Which siren is it? Does it have a 4bladed prop or a large disc mounted to the shaft?

is there a significant difference in performance not that it makes a difference. I a more concerned with the mounting and the servoe actuated brake. I went on utube and saw 2 differnt mountings, one under the wing and the other as abomb. I just dont want the thing flying off in the air

Mount it in the nose of the bomb and mount the brake servo on top of the wing.

I am thinking the same. I have a H9 bomb that I will mount it to/ I figure that I can hook it up with the dive brakes.

well, I got it mounted. Using the supplied brass straps used for attaching to the wing, My buddy Jupe had the idea to slide the center/outer casing of a hanger9 bomb over the straps, screw them on and then attach the bomb to the mounting stubs on the Stuka. The break is hooked up and works. I have it set up on channel 5 along with the dive breaks. When the dive breaks are turned on, the break is released and hopefully she will come to life.

Hello I am working on a Z stuka , modifiedANTONA 2version and I found afew years ago a sirencalledmighty mo Ithink it was sold by whitley don"t know if they still sell them or not . But I mounted and hid mine in the bomb its self.I found the sound a little to high of a pitch I want to change the pitch to alower sound but I don"t know if I should change the size of the airintake, or the air or the side openings, or the fan blade(number of blades orsize of the blades) or just leave it alone!</p>

you have any pictures of the setup? I dont know enough about sound dynamics to say if it would be the @ of holes or the size of the holes that make a difference with the pitch. My unprofessional guess would be the size of the air exit holes and the rpms rotator

Was my way of subscribing to thread. However, ive thought about this problem before. One idea was to hook up a ducted fan unit on a separate mix hidden inside a bomb or in the nose or something. Would use a large diameter fan unit but on a somewhat low cell count power so it keeps the high pitch edf wine noise down.
