Does anyone know what the control throws are for the nitroplanes 82 in. w/s are the crappy diagram doesn't state them. Also, where can I buy retracts fork style for this plane. Thanks.

I'd start with 5/8" to 3/4" for ailerons and 3/4" to 1" for elevator. Sierra Precision makes drop in retracts for this plane but are pricey. I reangled the gear mounts and used 1/4" music wire for gear. This is a good and easy flying plane but like all AT6's , has a few habits to remember: It will tipstall if not enough speed on takeoff. Do not try to wrestle it into the air like a sport plane. On landing, trim your plane till it just barely drops on approach. This will prevent or minimize bouncy landings. Balance plane to slightly nose heavy from leading edge of wing, not from front of wheel well. Paul

I have the 82" Seagull AT-6. I bought the eflite electric retracts for it. I have not yet begun assembling it. I am still trying to decide on what engine to put in it. I would like to go gas, but that would take some motor mount mods.

Can't say enough good things since going to mainly gas.. If you can swing it, make the change..

Hey thanks for your help really do apprciate it. See I got the same model/color scheme you do. what size engine are you using? I got a zenoha g26 in mine sounds great hopefully i can take it up this weekend but i doubt it. Manny

I agree gas is the way to go, I have 17 birds only 3 are nitro will convert the other to gas in the very near future.

Yeah I am going gas, just not sure what engine yet. I was thinking a DLE 30.

I put in a Poulan 42 cc gas conversion with CH ignition. Lot of firewall mods to make it fit. I've seen one fly with a G26 and flew fine. Like I say, balance it generously nose heavy to smooth the landing flare and overall tracking on the turns. May take a bit of added weight in nose to acheive this with a G26. There is another thread on this plane in RCU with lots of good info.

Hey just wanted to say thanks for your tip I finally installed the landing gear from sierra presion and yup youre right they were a bit pricy but I think it was worth the price. hopefully I fly tomorrow. Again thanks Happy holidays and fly safe Manny

This is a Seagull AT-6 w/ an Evolution 120 up front....enjoyed the assembly!

Just built my 4th CMP AT6. The Poulan 42 powered one got severly damaged on a ground loop. It lasted 2.5 years and probrably 75 flights so, I cant complain. The new one has 8 flights and powered by a BME 50cc gas. Flies just like they all do, real smooth. Paul

Sad to hear bout your loss, I will always have a Texan in my fleet so looking forward to flying the texan (still remember your advise), the sky raider and avenger they're all ready to go!! Best regards Manny
