OS 155 with 4 blade. Waiting for maiden this spring. Happy New year to all the brothers. This is a great thread. Thanks, Rick.

RCPROPSNAPPER,

Make sure you get pics or video to share with the Brotherhood as I am sure we would all enjoy seeing her in the air!

RCPROPSNAPPER 01-01-2014 09:21 AM

I will, Rick. It is my first P47. I am stoked.. It is my favorite WW2 fighter.

mrshea 01-01-2014 09:58 AM

where are guy's getting your 4 blade prop's? Just looks too cool not to have one. Also question, I have 2 engine possibilities for my top flite .60 build coming up here shortly. Well 3 really, I have a new in box st .75, a new in box asp 108 red head, and a magnum 1.20 4 stroker. Any thoughts on which I should use. Need to start making some decisions before I embark on my first scale build. Phil

mrshea, I am hoping someone can give me the same info on 3 or 4 bladed props. On your engine choices, the Magnum 120 four stroke is the way to go. You will have plenty of power, you wont have to add nose weight, and you can't go wrong with the sound of a four stroke on a Warbird! I am putting a YS FZ110 on mine.

Warbird40 01-01-2014 10:36 AM

Working on H9 P47 D1, Power 110, 4 blade prop, with some modifications.[/QUOTE]
Scoobiemario,
Is the 110 power plant you are using a YS FZ110?

Www.aircraftinternational.com. It is a Biela prop.

Warbird40 01-01-2014 11:03 AM

Thanks RCPROPSNAPPER, now I just have to figure out which on will work best on my YS FZ110. Most people use a 2 blade 166....is there a way to figure out what that would translate to a 3 or 4 blade prop?

Thanks

You are welcome. I remember seeing a chart on the website when you pull up the Biela prop site. Check it out. I went with overkill with the OS 155FS.

TonyBuilder 01-01-2014 11:14 AM

DLE20 is a good choice for 60size warbird also.

My group have been using DLE20's for TF .60 warbirds , and RCGF 15cc's for Hanger9. H9 weigh a bit less. Both configurations use Ultra IBEC to save weight.

The VVRC 20 is nice and has Rcexl ignition, genuine NGK-CM-6 spark plug and its only $199 and you get 10% off.

Some pics of my "Jug's".....sadly, some are not with us anymore:) First pic; Starmax (E-powered); second pic: PZ P-47 after a midair (we call that a near miss); third pic, my Hangar 9 P-47 150 (Evolution 26 gas), and that plane needs to get out to the flight line again!

For your viewing pleasure - link to my you tube video of the operational cowl flaps and LG operation of my P47. This video was made a few years ago.

Hey what about an evolution? After all that's your favorite engine right?

Propsnapper nice jug, is that a Topflite? Love the razorbacks.

Elcorro 01-01-2014 05:43 PM

Happy New Year All! Warbird40,to answer your question on props I do believe for a 3 blade drop 1 inch in dia. and add 1 inch for pitch. (16x6 2 Blade= 15x7 3 Blade) And for 60 size warbirds I have an Evo.20cc on my TF 60 P-47, but if I had waited a bit longer, I would've gone with the new DLE 20cc RA.

lancairmustang 01-01-2014 05:47 PM

Yea, dle 20 is a great engine
