Very nice Blair.

Blair K. 01-31-2015 01:14 AM

Thank you guys im glad you like it, its been a very long road but what a feeling to taxi her out followed by a successful flight.

Im taking her out tomorrow and ill spend some time setting the top end mixture as it was a little lean last week so I never went over 60 % throttle and kept it on the idle jet.

My telemetry threw an alarm when I opened her up on to the main jet and heat went up a little high and it felt a little down on power but came on stronger at 60 %.

I know the signs and with a fuel regulator the standard mixture settings are no longer relevant.

Tomorrow ill have some good air time to sort it out, id love to see 200kph or 120mph for my friends in the states.

Cheers Blair

After 3 flights progressively creeping up on that sweet spot I measured 188.3 kph with GPS, gets along nicely and will loosen up plenty too.

No,not all. I just pick out a few items to translate and checked the exchange rate.
I wasn't able to translate the whole page.

Maybe it will come out in an ARC?

Hey guys.........A quick shot of my newest TF P-47. I started with the ARC. For those of you who don't know what an ARC is, (stands for ALMOST READY TO COVER) the airplane is basically built but left uncovered. I glassed this
one and then covered it with Flite Metal. 4.2 Fox and all JR radio and Hitec servos. Taking her to "One eighth Airforce fly in" in March in Phoenix for the maiden.http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2069654

captainron:

Don't for get U can not maiden a plane at a contest or show ...

Academy of Model Aeronautics National Safety Code

Effective January 1, 2014

3. model aircraft will not be flown in AMA sanctioned

events, air shows or model demonstrations unless:

(a)The aircraft, control system and pilot skills have successfully demonstrated all maneuvers intended
or anticipated prior to the specific event.

(b) An inexperienced pilot is assisted by an experienced pilot.

So Please make sure it's flown before the fly in. It would be a real shame if it
can not fly here, on a technicality.

Trust me I value its safety more than anyone, it has a Spectrum DSMX
9110 with 4 satellites keeping her safe, it also has 3 batteries onboard taking care of electrics, one battery just for landing gear.

cheers BK

TonyBuilder 02-01-2015 01:16 PM

Why would anyone want to test fly a plane for the first time at an event anyways? Seams like there is enought to deal with on a new plane let alone the kayoss of a flying event!

Chad Veich 02-01-2015 01:58 PM

Lots of people, particularly out of towners, show up for the OEAF events on the Wednesday or Thursday prior to enjoy some practice and test flying time. Nobody is test flying during the actual event unless they are doing it without the knowledge of the event organizers and contest director. Ron knows this and, as he is one of our regulars, I am sure he meant that he would be test flying the Jug during his trip down here for the event and not during the event itself.

captainron 02-01-2015 02:01 PM

OK guys thanks for the reminder.........BUT, I believe I can maiden on the Friday before the event. OEAF is officially Saturday and Sunday. If I don't for some reason get if maidened on Friday, it definitely won't go up on SAt or Sun.
I think I'm ok here. Correct me if I'm wrong and I will adhere to any rules regarding the maiden. I live in Colorado and it's just not maiden weather here. I welcome the feedback.

CAPTAIN RON,

Thanks Chad, you are absolutely correct. I will adhere to any and all rules imposed on me by AMA or OEAF. Thanks for the support.

CHAD,
I really thought I cold maiden on Friday before the official event started on Saturday. Correct me if I'm wrong and I really won't bring it. It's usually open flying on Friday mad the pizza at 4pm is to die for. If any of the OEAF boys want to chime in here, I'm good with that. Here's a couple more pics..........

Ron,
I wouldn't be concerned about the invasion strips on the wings, 36 hours after the invasion, an order was sent out to remove them. However it became difficult to remove or paint over all the planes, so the order was modified that is why so many plane pictures show only the invasions on the fuse, it was very evident on C-47's. 80% of the planes that took part in D-Day flights didn't make it to the end of the war.

captainron 02-02-2015 08:27 AM

Oh boy thanks Chris for the feedback. I may end up not putting them on after all. I really enjoy the Flite Metal and didn't want to cover so much up. You've made the decision for me,.......
