Fw-190 arf

Don't shoot the messenger. I was looking for an ARF of a FW-190 (Top Flite at 800 bucks no thanks) and I found this. I have been out of the hobby for a while, but this doesn't look too bad. I have a CMP Mosquito, and I don't think it could be any worse. What do you all think, or what does any one know?
Cheers,
Andy

Hay, at that price go for it. How bad can you get hurt? I got the Black Horse Models 70" wing span FW190 about 2 yrs ago. It needed the gear mounts redesigned and rebuilt and the firewall re-enforced. It is all wood and light. 12.4 lbs with Spring Air 74 degree retracts and a DLE 30. Very docile on take off and landing but climbs like a rocket even with a three blade prop. But no longer available. With a fiberglass fuselage you will probably need to put every thing as far forward as possible. I used the DLE 30 even though a 20 or 26 would do because I needed the weight up front. anyway. If you get it, give us a report.

This is just the CMPro Fw-190

They fly pretty nicely, but as for looking like a fw-190... butt ugly!

I used to have one, and did a whole heap of work to it to try and make it a little better.. Thread here for the kitbash:

The TF offering is a totally different proposition. It's a 50cc warbird vs this one which is more of a 30cc affair.

Thanks

Dave

Dave,
I am currently reading your thread in regards to this plane. WOW. I don't want to skip to the end to see what you mean by "used to have one", especially not after all of the work you have put in to it. The FW-190 has always been one of my favorite warbirds - you just don't see them anywhere. In a field of Mustangs and Corsairs, they definitely draw a crowd. Don't get me wrong, I love all warbirds but some of them have been done to death. Anyway, great work and thanks for replying.

Not sure I posted it, but I ended up selling her because I bought the at the time just released ESM Fw-190 Dora. Never looked back!

I love the FW-190, snd although the A are my favorite version, the ESM Dora is just an amazing model. Wouldn't hesitate to by another one should the un-mentionable happen. Might be another option for you to look at.

Ill lk post you some links and pic of it when I'm back at home.

thanks

Andy,
Cardinal rule............You get what you pay for.........I splurged and got the TF FW 190. Great ARF....Great Flyer.........Solid, reliable and no surprises. Zenoah G-62 carries her around with authority and I'll run with any of the big boys. Go with the Top Flite..............You'll be happy you did.

Sorry, don't agree that you always get what you pay for.... The CMpro one is a lovely flier as well, it's just smaller at 1/6 scale.

Here is a video of my CMpro one flying:

Here is My ESM Fw-190 Dora:

Tip: Don't waste time with the boat anchors (Zenoah) and try the XYZ 53cc twin! FAR smoother and more power than zenoah's.

Thanks

dave
