I have a top flite arc p-47 that I just started. I am currently in the glassing stage and plan in going with the black and red bill lanoksi color scheme since I haven't seen it much. power will be a DLE-55 with an eme auto start system. I am also considering converting my robart main and tail retracts to electric.

I ordered the arf to replace my kit version that has seen its days. I have the ASP 5 cylinder radial in the old plane. Will do some mods to the ARF color scheme. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2059638

I am doing a TFGS P-47 RTC build and also have a TFGS P-47 kit build going on. I am using a DLE85 in both planes.

These pics are of the prototype in the unfinished state. At 37lb it flew great with the DLE85 at 40lb of static thrust.

Heres mine, Giant ARF I love the Tarheel scheme. Powered by a brand new DA 50, all hitec 645 metal gear servos, life batteries, smartfly batt share, and smartfly ignition cutoff. Kinda went overboard with all the equipment in the plane I've beem told, but oh well. Thinking about putting the robart electric retracts in as well.

I have the tarheel hal arf with the DLE-85 and Sierra main retracts and wylie warbird hatch and gear doors. Flys great.

How quick is that sucker with a DLE 85?? Mine pulls hard with the da 50.

It's pretty fast but have no idea of actual airspeed. Swinging a 24x14 prop.

Anyone used the Busnell radar gun to check air speed? Did it work well?

I am too working on a ARC 47, we are glassing the A/C with .6 oz cloth and ZAP epoxy finishing then will be adding Flite Metal. DA 50, Robart Electrics and Futaba Equipment.

I got these robart electrics and it looks like they don't even fit in the holes to fasten them down? What do yours look like

Here's my TP GS P-47 I got flying this summer. Using the Robart electric retracts. Had a lot of issues with them but they seem to be working much better now that i used a dry lubricant on them. I run a DA-60 and it flies fantastic. more then enough power. I had pro-mark make a set of decals. Covered in Ultrakote. Rob

Very nice, everyone that I know that used the robart electrics have had "issues" I like air! Did you cover in silver or brushed aluminumn?

Also looks like you used robart aluminumn wheels! What size and did they fit in the wing?

I agree with you on Air. I know there is a strong trend to go with the electric retracts but I have yet to observe a pair that hasn't had issues. I'll stick with the pneumatics until the electrics are more reliable.

I really liked my ARC. Just more options on how to bash or finish the plane. Good overall canvas to shape into the plane a person wants. Here are a couple of pics.

I used the Silver UltraCote, then drew panel lines and brushed on some carbon dust and then sprayed it all with LustreKote Flat Clear. I used the robart 5" wheels. They just fit the wheel wells as you can see in the picture.

I like your waethering. On my prototype kit build I used the 5" robart wheels and they nearly fit with scale gear doors. My current kit build I thikened the wing by 1/8" and moved the wheel back to the scale location deeper in the wing. I am hoping to do scale doors on this RTC using the 5" wheels, we will see.

HI Tony.. Really like your P-47. I was going to do the "nut Guts, No Glory" scheme with the same checkerboard cowl. I really like the looks of your cowl. Nice work. i got too intimidated trying to paint the converging checker pattern. Your plane looks awesome!

Thanks......I cheated, I took the 60 size ARF and striped it, modified it then covered it in the my baby scheme. The cowl was already painted thanks to top flite, no way I would attempt to do the checkerboard.

Nordicz, nice looking jug. I have a set of those same pylons and want to make them operational. are yours static or did you make them operational. here is a picture of my topflite giant rtc p-47 (behind my 146" airtractor project). I will be going with the BF-109 killer scheme and adding paneline and rivet detail.

What did you use to draw the panels lines, pen or pencil?

Hi Dave,

Top Flite makes a "Panel Line Pen" marker. works great. Very narrow and if you make a mistake just wipe off with some light denatured alcohol on a paper towel. but I'd suggest then spraying over a clear coat to seal it in once you have the final look you want. I'd assume fuel would smear them as well... unless others have a difference of opinion. I use this pen for other things as well. Since it's gives a narrow line, I use it to mark cutouts on fiberglass cowlings. Just draw it right on the cowl, then any left over lines after cutting I just wipe them of with the alcohol. Rob
