There is a set of parts for Michael.

For a wing tube fix you can Hysol or epoxy the wing tube permanently into the wing. For a tighter fit into the fuselage you can add some thin CA to the fuselage end of the aluminum tube. Then sand off the excess until you have a good fit.

My plan was similar, but didnt think of the CA on the tube. Good idea.

Been working on the cockpit, once I get that completed and do a little weathering, I can finish the rivets on the fuse, then get to paint!

Retrack wires

I have a question for the ones running the stock electric retracts. On the controller the plug is for a futaba radio and I use JR, that's an easy fix. But what is the right color code? My receiver plug has the red and black wires reversed. Is http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2203906that correct? Thanks for any input in advance. Building two of these birds will post photos when done. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2203905

They are labeled wrong on the controller, just plug your extensions in like this.

MaxCo 03-04-2017 01:27 PM

Thanks, I take it the receiver plug is backwards as well?

plug the Rx plug in the same as all the others. Basically ignore the markings on the controller and the way the wires are mixed up on the Rx pkug

no joy, must be bad controller. thanks

Mine is finally 100% ready to go. Had to add 1lb of lead to the nose.

Has any one put the DLA 64 inline in one yet? I am considering removing the DLE85 out of mine for something else. Love the power but it is hard on the airframe.

MaxCo 03-05-2017 09:06 PM

No lights came on at all. So I got the idea of changing the 2 cel li-po as well. Then the magic smoke was released and it was all over.

ForcesR 03-13-2017 08:14 AM

It's not completed yet, the spinner back plate rim needs red paint too! Lol

danlandis 03-13-2017 08:26 AM

lol, its good the way it is. I thought about painting it, but if I do that there are to many what ifs and to much extra follow up work. If the paint does not match my OCD will kick in and I will have to start over, then there is the balancing... Yup, I am good :) It will fly just great!

Mpizpilot 03-13-2017 06:00 PM

Looks like you used the nomenclature from Callie's also. After I installed mine, I decided I didn't really care for the shiny look and am planning on taking them off. I thought about adding a coat of clear gloss to the whole plane, but am afraid that would open up a whole can of worms. Did you clear over your plane?

danlandis 03-14-2017 05:04 AM

I used a few very light coats of flat clear over the plane when I was doing my weathering as I have done on many past models. I should have left the canopy masked and shot one more thing coat over the nomenclature but I did not. They will get dirty as I fly. I think they add a ton of detail and really make the plane stand out, but that's just me. It looks naked with out them...

johng650 03-24-2017 08:09 AM

I pulled the trigger on the Torqpro 70.

AC2 and Sonny, how did you make out on your installs?
how did you handle the exhaust? I'd like to run it to the scale location.

thanks
john

Sonny.C 03-24-2017 04:51 PM

Hi John,

The flexible exhaust pipe on my mustangs exits out the bottom through a 1" hole through the cowling. Use the small standoffs provided with the engine and the gap between the spinner back plate and cowling is about a 16th of an inch and perfect.

Sonny

johng650 03-24-2017 06:56 PM

Thanks!

Have you ran it yet?
i'm going to mount my engine with the Secraft vibration kit.

Just watched a YouTube video with the torqpro, really shakes.

TimD. 03-27-2017 05:30 PM

I am contemplating purchasing one of the Rotomotor 85 inline twins for an engine replacement. Any one use this engine yet?
