Well, a new year but I'm going to see if they fixed the picture posting first and post some pictures from last year that I was not able too.

June 23-25, Windy city flyin at ST Charles, Ill.

It's still not working.

That's true but you have to back out and start over for the next picture: not conducive to want to look at the pictures.

So Sam, what the 2017 Road Trip schedule look like. Where ya and when ya?

Toledo RC show:
Yeah, it means flying isn't too far behind :)
Will be there on Friday only and looking to socialize, mostly and seeing all my friends and what they've been doing over the winter.

Glad I checked early!
Both portable air compress batteries were dead.
Got the large acid battery from 'batteries plus' for my yellow compressor. New battery is 50% larger.

Bought the smaller acid battery from tower for the 'traditional' charger that a lot of people have. Probably could have bought this battery also at 'batteries plus' but already ordered it from tower.

First flyin of the year for me at Millersburg, Indiana (210 miles) as well as the first flying of the year, this Friday and Saturday.
PM'ed the Ziroli SBD and carf F4U.
The SBD had some loose screws on the gear and a new air fill valve needed.
The F4U had one side of the elevator control horn loose, the air lines were snagging on the tail gear and greased the main gear axles as Darrell said the large planes need grease versus oil on the axles.
All batteries charged and new fuel for the year.

Dawn Patrol at airmaster field in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Miles: 40.
A nice, 1000' all grass field.
About 25 pilots showed up.
My first flying of the season.
Brought my 1/3 scale Nieuport 28.
(Last weeks flyin was rained, winded and too cold and was cancelled).

River was pretty high with all the rain we have been getting.

Thanks for the thread. Again: it's my favorite and lack of pictures would ruin it!

Sorry to see Owatonna not on your list this year, so we might not intersect

I LOVE Fond du Lac, but it's 800 miles of rough road for me (and esp. my planes) and last year was a wash-out!

CARDS warbirds and classics at Lancing, Michigan, June 1-3.
Miles: 270.
A 1000' all grass runway.
No rain but needed my ceramic heater at night with temperatures in the upper 40's.
Field is on a dirt road with no power so no houses around the field.

Thanks for the effort in sharing your trips Sam.
the CARDS field looks amazing with a lot of effort put in by there members in the mowing by the looks ( cross mowing ?)
looks to be some really nice aircraft in attendance there, great stuff.

A large corsair, 110" or so. Pilot was 3rd owner. He got close to the ground and pulled up and the wings folded. As the last picture shows, no spar: just foam.
