Painting Stits Fabric with Klass Kote Paint

Hey Guys, I have Stits Fabric covered control surfaces. I want to paint my Avenger (being built here in this form) with Klass Kote paints. I talked to Nate, Mr. Klass Kote, he said all I need to do is scuff up the fabric for the Klass Kote primer to bite. I'm concerned about scuffing the fabric, without tearing/ripping it, since I have never done that before. Can you guys give me some guidance how to scuff up the fabric without destroying it? Many thanks.

Chick,
Something mild for the fabric. Maybe a Bright Boy or 200-320 sand paper. Don't press on the fabric. Let the abrasive do the work. You shouldn't need much scuffing as fabric normally has a pretty good "tooth" to it.
I'm guessing the fabric won't crack over open structures?

Thanks Guys both here and on rcscalebuilders. Will follow your suggestions. Was also told to use scotch pads lightly. Good hearing from you both. Chic
