Just a quick update. With all the news about Houston and surrounding area being impacted by hurricane Harvey, I wanted to let everyone know that the B-17 Gathering and Big Bird at Bomber Field on Sept. 13-16th will still go on as planned. We have already assessed the situation at the field and everything is a go. We did not have an major damage to the structure and the field has already drained and is accessible. We are planning a big event this year and hope everyone still plans to attend.

Keep em flying and we will see you all at Bomber Field in two weeks!

We had a work day at the field yesterday. It is all mowed and ready for action! We hope that you will come join us for some fantastic warbird action this week! The weather forecast is perfect with sunny days and wind 5-10 kts. from the SSE (right down the runway). I received a call from someone who said that hotel space was not a problem in Hempstead, so if you are looking for a place to stay call the hotels there. They have space. We hope to see you there!

4 days of incredible warbird action and some of the best scale models around. Just some highlights, "Double Barrel II" F-82 twin mustang, P-38 Lightening, two B-24's flying with 5 B-17's and much much more. We had 103 registered pilots and too many flights to count!
