The Dornier was a one-off designed & built by Rick Stevens in the UK. I believe Rick used the Bentley scale drawings ( the same source as Pat McCurry used for his).

Keep an eye on the [link=http://www.unitracts.co.uk/]Unitacts website[/link] as I belive they have a kit under design with a 2.5 metre wingspan. Would be great if Pat McCurry did kit his also.

Your 262 looks gorgeous - so good I persuaded my mate to buy one - it certainly is a lovely kit - can't wait til he starts building it - Joe was most helpful.

Well It too me a while to get all my pic's together. I love the German airplanes. I have been building them for years. I have even drew my own plans for a few. So i'll post them in the order I built them.
Here is the first ME 109 I built (white one). I have built around 10 Meister 109's a few for me and alot for others.
The gray one is the second.
3rd was red nose.
I like to find bright colored schemes. Herman Graf had a very colorful 109 and 190.

I then moved to the Meister 190. I first built the 190-D9 for a gentleman in Norway. At the same time I became interested in the 190-a but Meister Scale did not offer one. So I talked Dick into letting me do the conversion from the 190-D9 to the 190-A. It took a while but the finished product worked out well. Here are a couple of pic's of the 190-D9 and the prototype for the 190-A .

After I did the 190-A. I am always looking to do something a little different. So I decided to onle way left to go was the final version of the 190. So I redesigned the 190-D into the Ta152. The vertical had to be changed. The fuse had to be lengthened, front and rear. The wing had to be extended from 100" to 144" The supercharger intake was much larger and was carved from larger balsa block. . I did draw some plans for the conversion but " Its not and easy conversion, you must be a experenced builder to make it work". It had 37" of flap on each wing. I had a Q-75 in it and it would really move. By the way I did put carbon fiber strips along the spar. the wing gets very thin at the tip.

After the Ta 152 . I talked Dick (Meister Scale ) into reducing the Me109. So I redrew the plans and Dick got all the parts made smaller. Spinner scoops etc. It has an 84" wing span. It made a really nice smaller 109. I also built it into and ME 109-E model.
The conversion is really easy and Gene Barton sells a spinner that will work. here are pic's of the prototype 84" 109 and the E model I did.

Here's my Dave Platt 109G6. It was built by Cal Branton here in Minneapolis. Full panel lines and rivet detail. Wonderful flyer with the OS 108 and onboard glow.

I have a Ju-88 that I have been working on and off for about 4 years. I have it up in primer since these pic's were taken. I will have it flying for the spring. It will be a JU-88-C model a fighter version. It has a 126" wing span. I did from my own plans. If it flies well I also but all the hard points on it to change it to a Mistel Version with the 109 on top.

Ty, Outrageous!!! I reckon that your posts should lay to rest any concerns anyone may have about how good Meister birds really look hey! Ya know, that Ta-152 looks real familiar...she is still the pride of my staffel for sure. I wasn't aware that the conversion of the 84"109 to an E model was doable without too much trouble. If you could possibly post a little more about what needs to be done, I'm sure there would be heaps of folks interested...there are always so many posts of guy's looking for a big 109 E. I have always been a big fan of the Meister stuff, in fact the only ones I haven't had are the P-51, and the Spitfire. Thanks again for all the fantastic pics.

Ty, I remember seeing the Ju-88 when I bought the Zero and 152 from you...I would love to see that baby in the air a WOD! Man that would really blow me away to see a Mistel in the air...that would be with the 84" 109 or no? If you ever have any thoughts of parting with it give me first shot...PLEASE!!! Okay, for any of you following this thread, Ty is one of those guy's that if you ever get an opportunity to own an airplane that he built, don't hesitate...grab it and run...you'll be getting a true work of art! Ty when ever, or where ever you get that baby in the air I would love to be there to see it, I would do the 12 hour drive without hesitation to get that sight on tape!

Here is the last Luftwaffe plane that I built it was not quiet gaint scale, but I may fix that soon...

The 109 for the Mistel would be a 60" model . I have the plans drawn for that already. Yes it would be a 60" Meister 109. But it would be built without retracts . and I may make it electric and just belly land it after the flight. I don't want to make it really complicated.
I plan to have the Ju-88 at WOD next year if it flies well..Plus bring my new Marchetti 3 engine plne too.

it is just so surprising that there are not more manufacturers of these beautiful kits, we all have a closet love for them. The heinkel has my vote for most unusual and most want to see fly.Man you should kit that plane. Let us all know how it goes on its maiden flight

Horrido!!! Another P-47 going down in flames!!! ha ha ha haaaaaaaaa!!!! Hmmm... G-man...a closet love? You should fly and show your Luft birds proudly!!! Add up the victories of the top 250 Allied pilots and that still doesn't compare to the number tallied by the top 25 Luftwaffe experten! The machines that they flew had a little bit to do with their success I'm sure. History has been so distorted, that most people will never know what these brave men achieves against usually overwhelming odds. I would love to see just once, the true history of this conflict be told...especially about the air war! Not long ago on the History Channel (should be the Propaganda Channel) there was a show about the Air Aces of WWII, they mentioned US, Brit, Russian, Italian, and a bunch of others, and I don't recall one word about Erich Hartmann, or Gerhard Barkhorn...I think they mentioned Galland, but that was about it. What a total bunch of BS. Okay, I'll shut my trap now before I get into trouble yet again.

hey I am with you. I agree that the Germans were technically and tactically way ahead of the allied forces. We owe alot to our adversaries in todays designs and tactics. It takes an enemy to show you your weakness. I kinda agree with you on the propaganda thing. I own and fly nothing but opposing forces aircraft...just because the truth is not out about them. Everyone knows everything there is to know about mustangs and p47s and such. Give me a good old obscure aircaft any day . I have somewhere on this site pics of my IMP FW190D9and Macchi 202.

I had several references. I bought a plastic model with the same color scheme. I borrowed a book from a friend that he got from Japan. It had a very large 3 page fold out. The only side view I have is this one....

Great Luftwaffe photos. Here is my contribution, a Henschel HS 123A. The aircraft is in the attic at this time waiting for me to get motivated enough to rebuild it after a mishap at the Dallas Scalemasters Qualifier. This aircraft was a work in progress for over 12 years. As someone said, "This is such an unforgiving sport" and after 35 years in R/C I agree-------

Tommie, Nice, very nice indeed! Tell us a little more, whats she have in her? I would love to see some close up pics of her. What happened, if you don't mind my asking?

Alan, Tell us a bit more about that mean looking bird...size, engines, retracts etc. Looks real nice! I know what you mean about the 262/B-17 pic...I reckon that's a shot that hasn't been seen in what...58 years! I just wish I had my SLR and not the digital...I could have gotten much better shots!

The Ta-154 is from RCm plans #642 from 5/76.
I wish I could say I built this plane.. but oh well.. I own it now hehe... it was built over 10 years ago and never finsihed.. I was able to obtain it from a memberin my club who had installed the radio gear and the engines and the retracts.. my building buddy painted it using paint chips from an old Pica 190 kit .. we used latex enamels.. the paint went on real nice.. I clear coated it with Top Flight flat clear.

The cowls finally came loose after the 10th flight.. I looked at the mounting system .. the original builder used soft balsa as the mounting blocks for the cowls.. those had vibrated loose.. I will take care of that this winter season.. also the ailerons were operated with the bell crank system.. those too were mounted on soft balsa.. the 2nd flight one aileron came off in flight.. it as all I could do to get it down safely.. i was thinking of putting servos in each wing but decided to just redo the bell cranks.. they have performed fine using hardwood...

I think the wingspan is about 70 inches, it has 2 OS .52 four strokes in it, Spring air retracts with a modified retract nose gear ( I don tknow what brand it is it is definitely not a spring air nose gear) but they work well.

It is a fast plane.. I really havent tried to fly it slow except on landing approaches.. I am hesitant to try those stall tests yet.. I let the engines warm up real well before I take it off.. I havent had any problems with the engines yet... they dont synch all the way up the throttle spectrum so I synch em for just under full throttle.. because of the synch problem I usually have to take off from a full throttle start, my son holds the tail while I run em up then lets go. the first 2 attempts at take off were the normal way and the plane was all over the runway due to asymetric thrust ( sounds good lol ).. it was probably my nerves..

It has 4 flaps that work off a torque rod.. I tried em once but I think I was going too fast when I dropped the flaps cause the plane really ballooned upwards. it lands fine without the flaps a little hot but a trike gear warbird is ok for a hot apporach easier than a taildragger.. once it is on the ground it slows quite well..

The last 2 flights before winter arrived here in Utah I actually did several rolls.. since the real plane was considered a fighter.. the plane handled the rolls well.. not too tight like a pattern plane more like a warbird would have done it..

I love the attention I get when I bring it out.. scorpio ya know :D it still scares me but after it is over I have that rush..
