1/4 scale pilots. Where are they?

I own 1/5h and 1/6th scale warbirds and finding pilot figures for these guys is relatively easy, but where do you find 1/4 scale pilots or pilot busts?

RE: 1/4 scale pilots. Where are they?

Iron bay have a really nice bust but you have to paint it.

There is a mob in Germany producing 1/4 pilots, however the head has a dumb 'just got laid' cheesy grin that does not fit with warbirds and the uniform and fitting are not very scale or realistic.

their civilian version though looks really nice and you can get away with the grin in those sort of models.

Not a lot to choose from worst luck.

this is not a signature box www.petenplanes.com.au

I got one from Hanger 9 for about $16.00. 1/4 scale, full body, poseable. Try this

Aces of Iron are top notch in detail and quality. I, personally, enjoy painting them.

That one from H9 looks decent although its for a 1/4 scale Piper cub. Changing the clothing might be an issue, but it seems it would work well for a 1/4 scale BalsaUSA Fokker DVII

If you are considering the AH pilots you should look into ordering them direct... Much cheaper... 1/4 scale full body $33 us right now....

Hey dear Ram-Bro

I can't find better than these made from Axel in Germany. They are a little expensive but at the end you see that they deserve every single penny!!
http://www.axels-scale-pilots.de/

Axel is making custom made pilots to your requirements. I have tasted his product and it is AAA+

Kind regards
J.R.

Johnnie, nice site. My German isnt the best anymore but I could barely get around there. Do they make custom pilots and can we see pics of yours?

RE: 1/4 scale pilots. Where are they?

Aces Of Iron are the best looking pilots out there and look great after painting. Anther company that makes nice 1/4 pilots is Vailly Aviation.

see: www.vaillyaviation.com/

I have got one of their pilots in my DPM Clipped Wing Super Cub.

I know that some people have grafted a Aces Of Iron bust to the legs of a Vailly pilot, as Aces do not make full body pilots.

Another good one is Inzpan, who do scale instruments and cockpits. They recently released 15" pilots, which look ok in 1/4 and 1/5 scale planes.

Dear Ram-bro

Yes Axel is making the pilots custom made at your instructions. (Jackets, skin color, flying suits, Navy, Army, 1st WW, 2nd WW or civilian)
I will send you via pm a few photos of Axel's pilots. The photos at his site are not in favor of the pilots that I have at hand.

There is another company that you won't find it difficult to understand and they also make the pilots custom to your will..

Still looking?
check my website for 1/4 scale pilots: www.premierpilots.net
I make them because I could not find good pilots with lots of detail to match the detail in my models.

Hi Ram-bro,
I've been collecting a variety of quarter scale pilots for my models. Give me a call and we can chat about options, or drop by for a visit some day. I'll show you good to outstanding pilot options.
Regards,
langerl

Flyfast1 11-21-2013 04:05 PM

As an fyi, I recently purchased this (http://www.warbirdpilots.com/Product...tish-Pilot-1-4) 1/4 scale RAF pilot for my current 1/4 scale spitfire project and the pilot looks good.
