RE: ESM 50cc Corsair
Yeah it does. I've purchased dozens of planes and this has never happened.
VQ tells me that I'll get a plane or a refund, as soon as Fedex lets us know what happened. One thing people should remember, VQ ships the planes as indirect signature. Fedex says that anyone can sign for the plane, neighbors, anyone. You may want to consider requesting direct signature when you order a plane from them. But as to why Fedex would take the plane to the wrong address, is beyond me. |
RE: ESM 50cc Corsair
Hill202,
It happens with FedEx. I too, tracked my shipment only to find it was delivered and signed by someone somewhere. Luckily, the next day the driver remembered where he dropped off my boxes and they where retrieved. The plane ended up a mile away on a loading dock of a small factory and signed by someone inside. In my location I always use UPS if I have a choice mainly because the FedEx distribution center is an hour away whereas UPS is 15 minutes away. FedEx will most likely find you shipment today. |

RE: ESM 50cc Corsair
It happens to me about once a quarter. In my case, it happens with both carriers and USPS. Fortunately, it's delivered the next street over due to very similar street names, Grace Brook and Grace Branch. Same house number. You might look into that possibility if you've not already.

RE: ESM 50cc Corsair
Fedex contacted me and gave me the address to the place where it was delivered in error. I went there and the people were home but would not come to the door. This was not a big fancy house it was a dumpy looking place. I could hear people inside. Fedex says they are going to go there and attempt to retrieve it. I told them that at this point I feel the best thing for me to do is refuse the package, if its been opened.
This is between VQ and FedEx now. I'm done with it. |

Great! Glad it worked out. Now.... the work begins.... :)
|
RE: ESM 50cc Corsair
They could have at least put it together for me :D
I have not asked this but this is a good beginner plane right? |
RE: ESM 50cc Corsair
Congratts, replace all the hinges with robarts!!!! almost all the hinges failed in my buddies ESM 50cc Spitfire.
|
RE: ESM 50cc Corsair
Thanks for the heads up, I usually replace them anyway.
|
RE: ESM 50cc Corsair
Yea.... right..... I guess it depends on your definition of "beginner" :)

RE: ESM 50cc Corsair
Just trying to inject some humor :D, I'm just glad its here. The only damage that I can find is a dent in the fuse. Its not creased or torn and you can push it back out but it pops back in. I'll figure something out on that. I was hoping that with ordering the plane late like this, that I might would get one with out left thrust but this one has it also.
But thanks to all the good information here, I'll be able to work through these issues. |
RE: ESM 50cc Corsair
Good on ya going and demanding your plane! I would still be going after fedex with a big stick. What the hell is the point of indirect signature???????? Glad we dont have that over here!
Its a pretty easy plane to assemble - throw a couple of tubes of epoxy and CA in the box, shake well, and VOILA! instant Corsair! :D Usual advise - read the forum and ask questions if your not sure. Thats what we are here for. As you have probably read, the plane flys really well. Smooth and controlable with good maners. You will love it! Boast time..... I'm off to watch the first public flight of the worlds only working Mosquito this weekend! Hopefully will be my next big model project! I cant wait!!! |
RE: ESM 50cc Corsair
Tomas told me that he had some complaints about sending planes direct signature. Guys were not home to sign for it and the wives could'nt. I think Tomas thought that indirect allows only household family members to sign but FedEx says that anyone can sign indirect. Like you said Stoat, whats the point?

But in general, I stay away from UPS, Fedex, DHL and all that ****. I allways select USPS or, if another country, the standard "local mail". Or don't order. It ends up in the post office. What the heck, its all air mail anyways. And I avoid all that paper stuff that comes via mail a week or two later, allways makes me wonder if the want more money from me. Difficult to say from the pile of papers I get. |
RE: ESM 50cc Corsair
Try heating the fuse, pop it out and put something behind it until it cools..

If heating doesn't work, try adding a former in there. Had the same problem an an ESM Spitfire, tried heating and pushing out on it unsuccessfully. A former did the trick.

A former would do the trick but access is extremely limited. You have to get past one former to get to the area.

RE: ESM 50cc Corsair
I see they are still pairing the elevator cable guides with the rudder and the formers are as straight as ever.

RE: ESM 50cc Corsair
Looking at and handling this plane in person, will give you a deeper appreciation for the work you guys have done with your planes. Sliding canopys, pilots that turn their heads, weathering. Thats impressive stuff.
I'm pretty sure my pilot will only be able to look straight ahead :D |
