Eran,
I am pushing to have it ready for September.
parts available will be fuselage, cowl, belly pan, canopy, spinner, gun blisters and the laser cut wood kit. There are Fw190 cockpit kits in the market that can be adapted, so I will not spend time on those. The wing was designed with Sierra gear in mind and is also available now.
I am thinking in using the Moki G360 in line engine that fits perfectly inside the nose.

So the kit will be available September? Any idea on cost?

Jose - Do you think you will be OKwith this much weight in the nose? Almost 2.5Kg...

Add me to the list when the kit is available. I'll have a new house in September with a huge basement. I can't think of a better project to break it in with.

Ramstein, I will keep you posted as soon as the maiden gets done and all the wrinkles are ironed.

Eran, nose weight can always be fixed. There is plenty of tail so I don't think that should be much of a problem. The twin Moki is not a definite yet, but I like the idea.
Here a couple of more updates from today. The cowl and fuse are almost ready. A couple af more coats of primer and more 1000 wet sanding should make the surface shiny smooth.

Updates:
the fuse plug is finished and being sanded 800 wet. It will be 4 piece fuse counting the cowl and the bottom of the wing panel. The supercharger will be fiberglass molded as well as the canopy winscreen frame and hood.
The wing is designed for 2 o3 piece option. The 2 piece option is using a center wood box and aircraft ply 10mm thick joiner. If the builder wants a 3 piece wing, the center can be permanent fixed and aluminum tubes can be fitted at the ribs outboard of the landing gear.
Thanks for the patience, it has taken quite a while to make these parts and draw the wing.

For some reason RCU is not uploading the pics. I will post them on http://fliteskin.com/Ta152page.htm

Jose,
Hard to tell, but does the 152 fuse have all of the rivets already applied? I for one would have no problem paying an extra $100 or $200 to NOT have to rivet the fuse, cowling, hood, vertical fin etc

JGrc 05-25-2012 11:42 AM

RE: Fliteskin Ta-152 H1

No rivets, not because they are time comsuming, but they make the fuse heavier due to gel coat and tend to get lost with few primer coats and what not.
Besides, you need to let the builder do something too!! once you prime the whole airframe, you can burn the rivets (flush) in 3 evening sesions.

Thanks for asking.

JG
PS again I tried to upload pics and would not let me. I'll post them on RCSB

The fuse, cowl and belly plug are finished and it will be about a month or 2 to have molds depending on Vics italian vacation!
The supercharger scoop needs to be made but should take a day or so finish as well. ALl the CAD files for wing and tail feathers are finished as well and cleaned up, sent to the laser cutter already so the wing can be build next.
Things are moving again........

Jose,
This is kind of, sort of based off the Dave Anderson 152 correct? If so, could a laser cut kit for that model be used for this one? I just picked one up for the awesome price of free, and the thought of having a fiberglass fuse instead of a built up one sounds awesome.

Thomas,
The airfoil is a bit different in mine I think. I used NACA 23016 in the root to 23012 at the tips, but I'm sure it can be adapted, it should not be too far off. As soon as I have my plan converted to PDF, I will have it for downloading so you can compare.

Jose,
Thanks for the response. If you could pm me the dimensions of the root and tip chord width, i can print off the airfoil and determine the differences between them.

Thomas

P.s. that cowl looks great!

Thank you for the interest in the Ta152 plans, remember that I still have to fly the prototype, so there could be changes made. Another part I had to make for molding that I've been putting off, is the supercharger scoop. It seems easy to make, but it actually took a over day to finish, this will save a bunch of time carving and glassing!
The lip is a separate piece to aid in the molding process.
This is how it looks before the last coat of primer.
