Default What is this Ship??

Does anyone know the maker and what this ship was suppose to be? It has a lot of metal parts , twin screw. Mostly made of wood. Possibly an older Dumas kit?
thanks

What scale would it be if it is 30" long?

It looks to be a Dumas 30" PT 109 kit build. The person that built it, however has converted it into a late war 80ft Elco PT boat. It's armed in those pictures with a 40mm on the stern, a 20mm on the port side of the bow and a 37mm in the middle of the bow. Other than that, it has the standard dual 50 caliber machine gun mounts(guns themselves are missing) though it doesn't have any of the roll-off torpedo racks used at that time. One minor detail you might want to correct is the hull number on the cabin. PT658 was actually a 77ft Higgins, totally different than the Elco product. If you change the number to 558, it would be more accurate as PT558 was a 80ft Elco that was completed in November 1943.

As to your question about your boat's scale, a 30" model works out to be 1:32 scale

Hey thanks...that's the kinda info I needed. Yeah after I posted this and did some research, I new it was some sort of PT boat just didn't know which one. Also there was no indication of a manufacture. Got it on CL for $80 put some batteries in it and put it in my pool for a test run. Works like a champ! Even has some deck lighting. Thanks again
