No matter the time of day or day of week constantly encounter "long running scripts" which locks up the site. Forced to reload the page. Seems to be related to loading all of the advertisements. Also have long waits for pages to load waiting for advertisements. Real PITA.

You're having those issues even when logged in? What's your device/operating system/browser?

Win7 Pro and IE. Both with all updates. Cable connection.
Do not encounter these problems on any other website.
