Default post a video

Do you post a video the same way as pictures ? I'm not sure I can post a picture now with the new format, I haven't tried that wet either.

Thanks, Leroy

looks like videos can be uploaded from a URL (already located on the internet) but not directly from your computer (at least not with quick reply)
will try 'advanced'

I'm not able to upload any video except that which is already on you tube, facebook etc...
that being said, I'm pretty sure that wasn't possible even before the latest upgrade.
(for reviews on the magazine side of RCU, we have used you tube for years.)
I'll see if I can get a definitive answer.

Thanks Jim, I see videos all over the web pages of RCU, I don't see where U-TUBE comes into play. Believe me when I say some of this stuff isn't easy for this old man and with the new format I have a lot to learn all over again. I have threads here with lots of pictures but have never done a video. I liken it to the new MSN e-mail OUTLOOK which is a PITA. I'm dumbfounded as to why these things have gotten so technical when they should be easy for everyone to use. Anyway, any help I can get will be nice as well as help others with the same problems.

Regards, Leroy

(my Dad is 93... he's not having such a great time with the new layout eiter but he's stubborn and still trying )

IF you can post a link / give me an idea where you're seeing video's I'm SURE I can help at least figure it out.
(with my regular job I'm working woth a bunch of Mac users trying to get Outlook to run... FUN TIMES!!! (not really ))

Hi, Leroy...
according the the techs, uploading videos directly from your computer to a thread (without first uploading the video) wasn't possible earlier either.
but you CAN upload your vid to you tube, or RCUvideos.com among others.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/foru...m-here-34.html

(check post # 841 / page 34)
"Unfortunately, it is not possible; was not previously possible. Videos on RCU were/are hosted via http://www.rcuvideos.com"

for what it's worth, I don't think there are many (if any) forums that allow uploading videos directly into a thread.

Jim your dad has some years on me, I was sure there was video here and now I'm confused. Been bouncing back and fourth from RCU and RCG who does do video that I just lost track. " Well we are up staged by that little RCG bunch", how is that, big RCU with less content, kinda surprised, need to pay more attention. Anyway I can do a URL so when the time comes I'll send those interested down the road to see it.

Another thing, I'm learning how to use the new format, betcha I had some scratching their heads over this, ha ha

Frankly with the way videos are embedded these days, it's not always easy to tell where the video actually exists.

I may have found the video link in the icon bar 3rd from right end says insert video and you can find it when you go advanced, same as up loading pictures which I did. When I get a video I will give it a go and see what happens. Jim you may want to try it out, the ability must be there or there wouldn't be a icon for it.

Thanks for your time trying to figure this out and I may have solved part of the question, at least I hope so.

Leroy
