Default Quick question about 91CD header.

I purchased an RCV 91CD at the iHobby Expo on 22 Oct 2005. I was assembling the engine today in preparation for testing and I noticed the exhaust header is flattened at the bend it makes. Unlike normal mandrel bent piping this appears to be 'crush' bent.

Is this the normal RCV header? Or did I get an odd one?

Thanks,
Tom Keliher

FYI
My 91 CD header is the same as yours. Flat spot at center of bend. Apparently not restrictive. Engine runs great !

Hi Laurenne, 'twas nice meeting you at the iHobby Expo.

Here is what I am referring to. Notice how the exhaust pipe is flattened and squeezed? Instead of being the same diameter all the way as is normal with mandrel bent pipe. Is this how the 'normal' pipes look? I fear it may have some negative impact on the performance of the engine. Unfounded?

Thanks.

Hi Tom

It was nice meeting you too. I am pleased you are already getting ready to test your engine.

In answer to your question, this is quite normal and the pipes to vary in 'flatness'. This doesn't affect the performance at all and i believe it as a result of the stainless steel being bent.

I hope this helps. If you have any other queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best regards
Laurenne
