Wacky engine test stand
Hi all,
here is a wacked out test stand to break in my new RCV 90SP. I wanted to build something that could adapt to any engine and that I could roll around to the shady side of the house. What resulted kinda looks like it was designed by 'Big Daddy' Ed Roth!
This stand uses 1 1/2 " theaded metal pipe and threaded pipe mount rings top and bottom. One pipe mount ring is bolted to the 3/4" plywood base, the other to the bottom of the actual test stand. The test stand is screwed onto the vertical pipe. I can swap out any configuration of test stand I need by bolting a threaded pipe mount under any stand. The pipe unscrews from the base so the test stand can be stood flush against the garage wall for storage. It is a rube goldberg set up [:'(] but it works for me...

RE: Wacky engine test stand
Actually, yes.
If the engine is pointed straight ahead at wide open throttle it pulls the whole she-bang (even on gravel). The 90SP can move a lot of air quickly. I just turn the engine to the left or right so it's not pulling in the direction of the tires' rotation. Actually the whole stand turned out to be super sturdy. Thanks for your post.
