New 91CD
I've been breaking in my new 91CD with an APC 14x6 prop and have a few questions. To begin with, I've run the engine for about two hours over 15 minute intervals. The first runs were per the manual, but the first time I tried to set the main needle I went too far and it got too hot and seized up. Started right back up again after a brief cooling off period, but now I'm a little gun shy. At this point I have the main needle at 1-1/8 turn out and the idle is 3-1/4 turns out. The engine will idle nicely at 1800 and tops out at 8500.
1. Is this about where the engine should be RPM wise after two hour of break in time and with these needle settings?
2. Transition from idle to full seems pretty smooth, but is it normal to have a bit of white smoke during a quick transition from low to high?
3. There is a bit of oil coming from the the area between the prop driver and front bearing. Not a lot, but adds up to a few drops after a 15 minute run. Is this normal, or did I screw it up when I let it overheat?
I am relatively inexperienced and not yet up with all the ins and outs of 4 stroke engines in general. Still on a big learning curve here, so please bare with me if these seem like silly questions.
