Default New to RC nitro... with a sore hand

Hi, I just start on Nitro cars, and I chose a RedCat Shockwave to start...

I will go straight to my problem: After follow all the pre-setup on the car I cant make it start!! Glow plug is working, fuel is flowing on the line, thank is close fine, glowplug igniter charged and the pullstart is soft and fine at every pull... still my arm and hand is geting tired to pull and pull but nothing!!!

It is normal for the first time to be this hard? (god that sounds really adult oriented!)

Thanks... until some one say something I will keep pulling the rope!

Try to have somone give a lil gas on the throttle on the remote this sometimes will aid in starting just enough gas for it to crank dont rev on the engine once its started. Also it will be a whole lote easier on the arms if you was to install a drill start. This way you can start it and give it gas on the remote yourself. i hope this helps. it may also be a good idea to go to your local LHS and ask for help they are usually very great with this.

You may also want to set your idle screww a lil higher.

Since you say the glow plug is working, I am going to assume you removed it from the head. Check to make sure the round washer gasket is in place on the glow plug.

Thank to every one, well finally I was able to run the engine...

I set the idle screw a little bit more open than the 1mm, and I found that being scare to mess with the treads of the glowplug it was not all the way down, when I was pushing down with the igniter it was kind of trying to start but as soon as I remove pressure on the glowplug you can see it jump arround and the engine just die... so I get the tools and put it back on more tight this time and after a couple of pulls it start! I have set already the idle to to right point, and im on the 5th step of breaking engine.

Now I just need to play with the low and high speed needles to get the best performance, and pay a visit to the local shop to buy more nitro... I have just drive the buggy at no more than half of the throtle and its freaking fast and super fun.

After my last engine break in my hands looked like hamburger meat so I feel your pain. The good thing is after you have it broken in and you have the carb adj. right it should be a lot easier to start even with the pull start. Patience does pay off when it comes to the very important break-in process.

yeah it was kind of painful to break the engine but you are right, now i can start the engine just resting the car on the floor like is nothing!

A couple of pulls and its on ready for run, it just idle there perfect!

I just order a CEN MG16 and i will follow the same steps to breake the engine...
