Water Proofing Questions
Ihave watched the entire how to videos on waterproofing your electronics; however, Ihad a question with regards to using balloons. Is it possible to simply use balloons on all of the electronic components?I saw that it is easy with the receiver; however, can this also be done with ESC? The servo water proofing usingthe plastic dip didn't seem all the hard, however, Iam nervous using this and/or the liquid tape on the ESC. It just seems like a lot to do with this component. Also, with fan portion on my ESC how does this work? Does anything need t be done with the motor, as well?

Waterproofed RC is fun (I own 2 waterproofed Traxxas) until rust comes into place on the screws/drive shafts.
I ordered Stainless steel screws kit from Tony's yesterday for my 2 E-Revo (1/10 and 1/16).
For me, running in water/snow is over...

the heatsink on the ESC's job is to cool it. if you cover it with a ballon, you lower how good it works.
some ESC's will run cool enough with a ballon on them. but this is not true of all ESC's. some have such a high amperage that they need all the cooling they can get.
it really is best to open up the case, and cover the ESC's board and wires with plastic dip. just dont get any on the heat sink. this protects the electronics from shorting, without risking overheating.
and its one of those projects that once you have done it 1 time, its pretty easy to do again.

Yes it not that hard to do at all with the plistic dip once you start doing it you will see how easy it really is. But I would saty away from the ballon on the esc as stated it will not let it do its jobcovered.
