Default Other bodies that fit backdraft 8e

Looking to see if anyone here has tried on different manufacturers bodies on there backdraft 8e to see if they fit. I ordered a Xray 808e and an Ofna Ultra body to see if they will fit. I talked tot he place i bought them and they have the same with as the side of the chassis and seem to have a good length and plenty of room inside for electronics.

Anyone try to fit another body to theres, if so what chassis was it from.

Off to ebay they go. One with some work could fit but not worth the hassle, and you would have some spaces that stuff could get in. Hada kid up there with a losi eight 2.0 electric there and the body fit almost perfect. They got me one ordered and will play with that one later tonight. Got lucky that the LHS warehouse is only 3 hours away. So they have it on the order coming in tonight. Should have some fun with this tonight. Will post conclusion to my ventures.

Yea I went to my LHS and test fit a Losi 8 body a bit wide in the front, also my body mounts are just problematic and keep loosening and breaking off I am trying to think of a better soloution.

Seen that, hence why i went with the Ve8 body basic same design as hpi and hot bodies are pretty much the same company. The ve8 body is a little more streamline they also have jconcepts for the ve8.

i agree, the vorza body is nice but the ve8 body looks much better, IMO anyway. thanks you formula87 for takin the time to show everyone more info on the backdraft. yours looks very sharp with those wheels an tires that are on it in your videos. I am definitely looking forward to seeing how it looks with the painted vorza body on it.

My LHS had a painted Losi body offone of his cars and it was too narrow at the back and widened out towards the front. If the Hotbodies body looks good I will try that..... you say it is the same as the Vorza?? post some pics up with on the car before and after you paint it. How much are they? The Vorza was $21.00.

Update with pics, I went and got me a jconcept Ve8 body same as the hot bodies just a different look. Its the high flow version jconcepts number is 0100. No fitment issues really. I did copy the cut out up front on the right side to the left. This way when painted it will look even.

Like the colors. Mine is going with Parma Key lime green metallic, silver, white, black and with a few neon green hints. Skulls, and a spash designwill layout and take some nice pics of the body during the process, if i had a camcorder probably would tape it for you all. No stickers other than one Jconcepts to promote the body. Going to get a full vinyl with products and sponser who will cut the vinyl to cover the body of chassis. Got him making me several since ill tear them up instead of majordamage to the bottom pan of chassis.

Now if my parma order would show up, i could actually get started.

Have not run it yet rain last couple days............. But I may be swapping the thing back to the Earthquake and selling it all to a friend and keeping the body but looks like it should clear all susp and tires with no problems..........

few pics as the body is coming along. Took me almost 7 hours to mask and tape off all my sections for colors. Painting and peeling a section to expose the next section. Have a few items i didnt put on till after a few of the colors were down. Still a long way to go still.

Colors used so far. Keylime Green, Faspearl flaming orange, satin silver, white, black, and a few drops of brown for the skull tinting. I dont have that photo up yet as did that last night before i passed out. Will get this finished off tonight and will hopefully have the completed photos up for you all this evening.

Thank you i come from an automotive background growing up so painting and masking is part but did have some thin line tape that bleed but hell water colors are easy to fix, small fine point stiff brush and remove the mess up and remask the area. Had to do that with the silver and the orange break. the front nose will be white on it with a little black bleeding into that to seperate the front nose of it. Will be about another 3 or 4 hours till completed tonight. But ill post the final results tonight hopefully.
