twister xtg pro?
i saw the new twister xtg pro....looks nice!!!! but im deciding between upgrading my bandit to BL or buying the twister xtg pro as my second rc car. what do you guys think? the reason why i didn't post in the electric off road forum, is because people will say "don't waste time with redcat, they are junk" which i know they aren't. so i posted it here for an honest opinion.

RE: twister xtg pro?
Just plug and play. Fan already hooked up and comes with esc. I would take the Redcat. I have the buggy pro sweet car. Then for the price of brushless alone, you get a new truck, brushless, 2.4ghz radio and you pick up an extra battery from kit! Then you can swap the brushless in and out of two cars...no brainer dude!!

the ESC is 3s lipo ready. dont have to mess with the fan or anything.
as for upgrading the bandit?
they are a fairly tough chassis. but you would be spending over $100 on the bandit to get it to full VXL spec.
the vxl bandit metal gears in the tranny, stronger driveshafts, a waterproof 2075 high torque steering servo, larger wheely hubs and bearing.
by the time you upgrade those parts and buy a VXL esc and motor its gonna cost a fair bit.
as mentioned by another, the esc and motor in the twister can be dropped into the bandit! so if anything broke on the twister you could run the BL system in the bandit while waiting for replacement parts.

RE: twister xtg pro?
for wet day's keep your bandit. but for racing and other places where speed is needed go for either of the twisters!
why the twister for racing?:
low cg due to the bottom battery loading
lightweight with superior structure and durability
cheep parts!
brushless equiped!
lipo ready
FAST!
durable. if you want upgrades please reply with either speed or tourque

Just want to say the push button binding feature on the reciever is wicked sweet. I was driving the xtg (not pro) today and had a good time with it. I like the 2.4 radio too. You can set servo points just cool features.

RE: twister xtg pro?
okay thanks. im not going to be getting it for a month or two though. the reason is becuz my dad spent $209 on an airline ticket for my grandma, and he spent $105 for my birthday party so i don't have the guts to ask him if i can use my birthday money and buy the twister xtg pro yet.

Just a personal observation and I don't really know for sure.
HPI has stopped making the Firestorm (from what I heard).
Has anybody else noticed how close or similar the Twister and the Firestorm look.
I have a Blitz which shares some of the same parts as the Firestorm and I was just looking at how similar they look. I don't have a Twister to compare them up close and in person.
Shock towers look the exactly same as due a few other parts.
Maybe a dealer has both and can compare them. Then let those of us that want one know about it.
If they are the same, just think about it. The hop ups are already out there.

RE: twister xtg pro?
Look at the cross braces in the shock towers in the Firestorm and the Twister. That's the area that I was talking about. The design and shape look exactly the same as does the chassis brace behind the servo. Thanks

Great little Buggy and Truck. I stock the most common parts and you won't find better shipping prices or faster shipping. Check me out. www.spandh.net I am still uploading the twister parts so if there is something you need, just shoot me a email [email protected]
I also stock many other Redcat Racing parts and vehicles.
