RE: what do you own?
Main difference is the adjustment and aftermarket available for the Ve8. The body is more streamline and more low profiled. Tons more stable in jumps and with the right tuning on the buggy this is just out right fast. Currently im running my Losi motor and esc in, the Tekin will go into it once i get the updated chassis. But i mean im running 3s 5200 mah turnigy lipo great balance only thing i want to play with is the mechanical optional brake but then again might not want the extra weight for racing.
The redcat is good intermediate class with some upgrade done. Still a little heavier than i want. But its just as solid, stands a little taller but the new shocks i will have a ton more adjustbility with the new shock towers i made. 3 adjustment on lower and upper to 9 upper and standard three lower.
But i still like them equally. I have actually had more run time on my Redcat that on the Ve8 just cause i really enjoying it with the Tekin R8 and T8 set up. Costly but amazing power.
Hope that helps you out. Ve8 is a very good race buggy. Wouldnt bash it as much as replacement parts are more costly. Hence the Redcat will live with my Losi motor and esc after i get my last few parts into the Ve8.

RE: what do you own?
Thanks for the info. I was planning on running E buggy at my local dirt track with the Backdraft.... I have just been loosing screws and the stock shocks are not great and bendingthe CVDs od dogbones..........and the servo saver has been inconsistent......it is heavy but still fast (running stock motor and esc) I never really bashed it unless I swapped it back to the Earthquake 8e. I can spend the money to upgrade to alum stuff ie front hubs ect... and the stainless screw kit but would I just be better off with a true racing buggy kit.??? The parts are way cheaper in the Redcat.................. I have enough parts to build anotherbuggyalmost and about 5-6 diff cases and 3-4 full sets of extra diff gears and ring and pinions.............
You say you are upgradeing the chassis., have you broken the composite chassis yet? I am looking to sell my Backdraft and about $200 in parts to a guy at work but I may not............... Are you saying that the Redcat maybe more durable then the HB VE8 or the AE RC8Be....... as I tend to over shoot jumps at the track and wreck (a lot)and I can't remember how many times I have cartwheeled for days and just kept on going..........LOL
thanks If I need to PM you so I can pick your brain I can.

RE: what do you own?
Thanks.
It started out as a Monster XX from Target. I cracked the chassis and had to replace it, that led to changing more parts... before Iknew it there was pretty much nothing left from the original Monster XX truck. lol
It will be getting a Ford F150 Raptor body soon.
