Default redcat large scale electric ?

I have been looking at large scale rigs and found redcats 1/5 rampage xbe and the 1/6 shredder xt and xb. I am really interested in one of these I think. Anybody have any experience with these?

the shredder is cool, but my money would be spent on the XBE if i had the money.

the XBE has a tougher chassis, a better ESC and motor and is just way cooler.

the XBE is a rare bird also. there are very few RTR 1/5 brushless models out there.

there are some who have spent $700 for a HPI baja gasser, then spent another $500 for a brushless conversion.

or for $699 you can just get the XBE that is just as fast, and even comes with the lipos you need. the XBE is just as tough as a baja IMO, and since its 4wd it will actually handle better.

So are you happy with it? How fast was it out of the box? It looks to be really well built I'm kind of still going back and forth between the xbe and the shredder xt.

Go with the XB-E...The Shredder is just a 1/8 on steroid...

The 1/8 Backdraft 8E is on a 3mm platform, and so is the 1/6 serie // XB-E is 4mm.

Shredder runs on 4S // XB-E runs on 6S.

Shredder have a 1500kv motor // XB-E have a 980kv motor

XB-E goes 38mph stock, which is fast enough for a 20 pounds RC car.

hey nitro. are you saying that the aftershock is more stabil?must be something wrong with this one.it don't take much to flip this one.thinking of taking the upper control arms off the quake and put the on the aftershock and see if that helps.new body blew in three minutes! and i was trying to be careful on pavement on number1 punch control. just loves to go sideways.....than tuck and roll!!

the XBE would be much more stable than the avalanche.

You want to put the nitro engine in the XB-E?

I don't think it will work

no thinking of putting the electronics in the xbe.this little 1/8 scale is completely unstable at any speed with this setup. anyone else having problems keeping it on four wheels?

The only electronic you can switch is the Tx/Rx.

- 1/8 servo won't fit (too small).
- Any 1/8 motor won't be strong enough to move this 20 pounds buggy.

The reason your Avalanche is unstable is the high center of gravity (common to every MT).

MT are made to run in sand, not pavement :P

Have you tried it in a sand pit?

And like I said, MT have a high center of gravity, that's why they're always on top.

its the aftershock short course truck,,,,,,,,i just took the upper control arms off the earthquake.i guess they put them on because of the large tires.the aftershock don't have them but i made them fit cause the front spindles are quite mushy without them.charging up the batteries to seeif it helps to keep it on all fours.
