just swap it for a 05126 or a 02126 and a single speed clutch bell.

thanks ehroof, i magically found the little "searchposts" box up there so i have been reading up on the swap. Anyhow one guy was talking about a clutch bell upgrade when doing the swap, but the links are dead

you will need a single speed clutch bell, 13 to 15 tooth, hpi bells will work.

ehroof, I'm having the same problem, I read your earlier posts in the Tornado thread but the problem I'm having is I want to replace the two speed with a single speed like in the Shockwave. The problem is I want to lower the gearing like the Volcano so I can run bigger tires on the Tornado.

I can't seem to find a larger spur from Redcat that will fit the Shockwave tranny. Also HPI doesn't have any threaded two speed pinnions any smaller than 15T. I know I could put the Volcano tranny in the Tornado and just put a single speed clutch on, but I was trying to avoid the Volcano tranny due to it's numerous gears, this only adds torque loss and self destruction to the equation. I also investigated just trying to find a larger spur for the first gear of the Tornado tranny since right now I just run it in first anyway, but have not been able to find that either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's pretty easy. I swapped my single speed in my Shockwave for a two speed..... switching it back to a single. I find that the two speed didn't have enough torgue for my liking. It had speed out on a hard surface like a large parking lot, but not enough torque to get dirty in the grass and gravel.

I'm wondering what tooth spur is in that tranny. Do you think they just gave you the 44T Shockwave tranny with a 13T clutch bell? I think with buggy tires that would work fine but I'm trying to run bigger tires so I need the lower gearing from the Volcano, but I want the setup you posted. Ideally a 49T-52T spur with a 13T clutch bell would be perfect!
