ok well i got the radio system and it work awesome,  but im still having the issue, battery is fully charged,  i pull full throttle i can see the esc has a red light beneath it,  and then its switching to green when im full throttle,  its still jerky, still hesitates,    im starting to get frustrated and almost readt to return the truck

or im almost ready to just replcae with a totaly different brushless system , im at a loss on what to do

try testing the throttle responce with the servo unplugged from the reciever.

and i assume you re-calibrated the esc to your new spektrum radio?

I have had a servo go bad before, and it effected throttle...made it glitchy.

If the truck isnt that old, then redcat should replace the ESC for you.

Or you can find the ezrun 35amp esc for around $40 new.

Better yet, upgrade to a ezrun 60amp...or even a traxxas vxl ESC if you can spare the cash.

on the battery, the # 3500 or 5000 refers to the capacity of the battery...not the voltage. so a 5000mah pack will get you longer runtimes then a 3500mah.

so you can run anything you want, a 2000mah or a 6000mah(yes the make them that high.) it makes no difference to the ESC.

also, the ESC can handle a 8.4v 7 cell nimh pack...which will get you performance similar to using a 2s lipo pack.

well i did the procedure you posted a while back in this thread   if i did the re calibration wrong then how do it re calibrate it??
the battery question now im good on i tried fitting my 7 cell packs from my old emaxx but they didnt fit   so ill look for 6 cell batteries
and for 40 bucks for a different esc  why not spend a tad bit more and get something that i know will not have any issues

im getting frustrated all i want to do is charge the battery and go         i never had this problem with my emaxx`s and my ken block car

well this is what im noticing.......................when the battery is fully charged it works fine, when the battery is draining is when im having a issue
so i bough the program card tonight, and am going to buy a bigger stronger battery the duratrax 6 cell 7.2 5000 nimh
if the tuning of the esc dont work and rebinding and re calibrating dont work again   then i will replace the esc

when i get home tonight  ill post pics of the new radio and  i re adjusted the suspension for a lower stance

The manual says something about upgrading to a 12v fan on speedcontrol before using a battery bigger then 7.4 so i asked my dealer and he said i cold use the 11.1 lipo with bigger fan but im gonna try my 8.4 traxxas batts just how she sits

well my volcano is the brushless, and it has a cooling fan      i already fit the 7 call and you have to remove one of the battery posts for it to fit
and it doesnt really affect the way the truck sits,  just a bit heavier,  so ya come back  in here and tell if it works

might have to mod the battery tray...i assume they are 7cell long packs? They should fit, as the battery tray is a bit long. If they are hump packs, you will have to use some velcro or something else to hold the batts in.

either way you can use 7cell nimh packs on the volcano.

the fan is safe to run with 6-7cell nimh or 2s lipo. remember, a 2s lipo will have 8.4v when fully charged.

You only have to change the fan setup to run over 7cell nimh or to run a 3s lipo.

ok here is the update
the 8.4 4600 nimh battery does not work, and it fried the esc, i tuned the esc per the instructions, let everything cool down  and it still fired the esc
so guess i have to look for a new esc and or complete brushless system

I would get ahold of redcat or the dealer you got it from and have them replace it being it is rated for 6-9 cells NiMH and 2-3S Lipo

well i dont want their elcetronice in my truck,  ill buy a complete new system, either a traxxas brushless or duratrax,  or whatever i find  just not gonna go with red cats stuff      im pretty disgusted at this point too,   i have had the truck out for a total of 3 times and all the other times im working on it
fixing the steering, or the radio isnt working,  or re doing gear lash, and then spent 20 bucks in parts only to find out that the esc burns up!!!   so now im stuck with a program casrd that in never gonna use again!!!     just truely disappointed
