Default Arrgh - Why are lipos out of stock everywhere

Ok, so new caldera 10e owner here. Looking to buy a couple lipos and a charger. After much research it seems im going to go with the SKY 30C 2S 5000mah lipos, and the Thunder AC6 charger.

Problem is finally when I decide on the lipo to go with, hobbypartz is out of stock Anyone with experience know how long or what their deal is with restocking? Im pretty fixed on going with them as they seem to have the best shipping rates to ontario Canada.

Unless there is some online site based in Canada i could go with, but any i've found so far are a rip off.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Hobbyking? Why would anyone go anywhere else for batts! Hobbypartz is for ezrun stuff, hobbyking is for lipos.

Why do you want Sky lipos in particular? Nanotechs and Zippy are both just as good, nanotech arguably better...shipping is cheaper from hobbyking to europe than hobbypartz, not sure about canada.

These are very good packs... http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...Lipo_Pack.html

And this is a good charger... http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._GENUINE_.html

I bet you can get 2 batteries and the charger delivered for less than $100.

What most people do is change the battery plugs for something more helpful, like deans or traxxas. There is most likely a Deans cable with the charger, and changing the connector on a lipo is something I'm afraid you'll have to get used to, we all do it from time to time, the Chinese seem to like bullets. Change em for deans, get a good soldering iron or befriend someone with one

In any case, the point being, what plugs a charger or battery is supplied with is not expected to matter, cables are easy to make and connectors easy to solder. You can buy all kinds of ready made adapters if you really are averse to soldering.

So when you chance the plugs via soldering you cut and change the bullet connectors, not then multi-pin plug that the stock charger uses, right? That would also mean having to cut and solder the speed controllers itch new plugs as well, correct? Thanks in advance and didn't mean to butt in.

Valuehobby carries lipos at good prices with deans already soldered on.

So does SPC Racing

You can choose traxxas or deans

I think I'm just going to order a couple of these hardcase Sky batteries. They should fit the 10E battery tray right?

Why would you buy those? They are lower duratio AND more expensive than these... They're like, worse in every way...[&:] Just check your battery tray is 170mm.

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...Lipo_Pack.html

Or these... http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._2S1P_40C.html

More duration and more power for the same price.

Yah but Foxy, shipping from hobbyking is 30$ for the cheapest rate. The place i listed its 9 bucks to my door. I was going to go with the 5000Mah but was starting to worry that running two in a row might be too hard on my motor (heat etc).....Also I'm kinda set on going with the Thunder AC6 charger which is at hobby partz. So for 2 lipos and charger and shipping, I'll be at $103 total.

know what i mean? I do appreciate the help though really.. thanks for chiming in.

Kids are using this truck too, so I dont need THAT much power for now. Hence why Im going with 30C 4400mah .....(but im not the pro, you guys are....i;'ve only been in this for a week )

Thanks again.

Ah, sorry, as I mentioned before, hobbyking's shipping is much cheaper for me than hobbypartz, I assumed it would be the same for you. Those batts will be fine for you, hope everyone has fun with the car

Go with the ones I linked above, make sure they are US warehouse stock and you'll be golden. Maybe that affected your shipping rate? You know you have to pick the right product from the right warehouse, be careful you aren't ordering from China, when you could order from the US.
