If you're lookin for road tires for your Tornado EPX Pro..Here ya go

Well.. After much research on road tires for myTornado EPX Pro. I have come up with a setup that requires NO MODIFICATIONS.. I spent the last few weeks looking at wheels and tires. I used the dimensions of the current stock tires to go by. I tried finding custom(non-stock set-ups) because I wanted something different. I have come to the conclusion that these Tornados aren't real customizable. Other than changing the motor. battery, ESC etc. you are pretty much screwed for customizing for a completely different look for this car. Man I miss my RC10.. So.. I found this setup. I got an extra set of stock rims-Part #06024PB(rear hubs), Part #06008pb(front hubs) and paired them up with Prolines Dirt Hawgs Part #1071-00 (rear tires) and Part #1073-00(front tires). They match up perfectly and because they fit on the stock hubs and are the same dimensions as the stock knobbies. There is nothing to be done to the car just glue em on and bolt them up. From the weeks of looking I still have not found offset of the stock wheels and apparently no one else does either. Its a complete mystery. Even people at Redcat couldn't tell me..ridiculous. So here it is. I think these tires look WAAY better than the knobbies too. They look great bolted up and the whole setup cost less than 40 bucks. This research was a huge headache trying to get a combo that works. Hope this helps others looking for road tires for their Tornado..

I had those tires on my tornado epx pro....but I used stampede 2.2 rear wheels. that required some trimming on the inside of the wheel for the front but not bad.
those tires grip a little better and certainly will last longer on pavement.

the reason no-one at redcat can give those kinds of answeres is because redcat doesn't design most of their models. So, they rarely know more than whats included in the manual provided by the manufacturer.

Ok that's not true. The off set on the Tornado front wheels is 21mm from outside face of the hex to the inside of the wheel. I measured it the same way anyone could have. You just have to ask the right people.

21mm offset? THANK YOU JAMES.. Nobody could get me that magic number. I would have measured it myself but didn't know how to get an accurate measurement.
I saw the Stampede wheels nitro but ended up going with the Dirt Hawgs.
Glad to know they work great zack. I made the right choice.
    Thanks for the info everyone.

To find off set get a little ruler put the start of it where the hex nut sits and then where the back rim flange stops is what ur off set is
I work at a tire shop and thats what we do.

Btw, their grip is next to nothing on smooth concrete. My tornado s30 just spins them on that. On the street they do very well. Im on my first set after a gallon and a half of fuel and u cant tell they have any wear.
I run mostly on gravel and the street.

I'm running on the street and light gravel mostly. I don't have any real smooth concrete(except for my driveway) anywhere close. Thanks.
