I need better parts
Keep stripping thread on servo saver on my backdraft 3.5, need 2 kno if any1 has used another company's servo saver? Or if any of the hop up parts for other redcat cars will work on the backdraft cause I don't see 1 for the backdraft. They sell a hoped up servo saver bar but not the arms, I want aluminum arms or posts, whatever u wanna call em. Also the screws that hold the front dif on to the front chassis alway go through the plastic after a lil while. Don't know what 2 do about this other than find washers. Any1 else have better idea. Startin 2 get angry about the strength of the plastic holding this car together. Wish redcat would address issue!

sounds like something on the servo saver is not set right. Ive had the 3.5, and the 8e and the only issue I had was the 8e arrived with the servo saver set way to loose.
can you post a pic?
Washers sound like a good idea on the diff screws. Either that, or find screws of the same length/thread but with a larger head. Many hardware stores have a isle that is just boxes of screws and hardware. And there is often a gauge that you can put your bolt or screw into so you can find the diameter of it.

I actually just did this today with my earthquake 3.5. I had screws that kept coming loose and falling off so decided to improvise. Bought a new steering link and tried this on the old one just incase i break it. Bought longer M3 screws and washers and also put locking nuts so it stays secure. I have installed it and have clearance so nothing hits. Got all the hardware right from home depot for about $2.00. Even did the same thing to the arm that comes from the servo and the arms that connect to the the link. Works great so far! Hope this helps a little

Seriously, I about can't take it anymore. Went back 2 the metal spur gear but started chipping the bell, which is why I quit using the metal, but my plastic spur gears last about 5 times around the track. I have every single hop up on this vehicle to try and make it more reliable but I don't think that word is in redcats vocabulary. I would sell for $200 considering the mass amount of parts I have for the buggy.

If the gear mesh is properly adjusted and no rocks go through the gears it should last a lot longer. You can loosen the slipper to prevent the gears from absorbing all the shock in the drivetrain, that should help.

Done it. We start very loose, then tighten till it till we finally have the right amount of slip. The motor mount is pushed all the way over or it won't mesh properly, I'll have 2 post some pics or try a video for yall
