    $140 Volcano epx

About a month ago I was on Craigslist and came across this Volcano that was modded.
The guy was asking $175 but got him down to $140.
It came with steel gears all around, CV dogbones, aluminum a-arms hubs, upper frame and rear ends along with a 5700kv Mamba Max Pro setup.
He also gave me a new 2s and 3s lipo batteries. There was also a box of spare and original parts like 3 sets of rear end gears, spur gears, extra shocks and more.
I bought a new body for when it's cleaned up and sitting on the RC table in the den.
Problem is I had to put the plastic spur gear back in because the steel one kept eating pinion gears every time I run the truck.
Yesterday I ate the steel drive gear up after half of a battery. I am starting to see what many people are saying about Redcat being, not-so-good. Anyway here is the truck.

It looks like it's way over powered since it's eating steel gears. Maybe if all your gears were steel then the pinion gears wouldn't get recked. I think your putting too much power on the truck even the brushless version has a 3300kv motor and is only compatible with 2s. A 5700kv motor and a 3s seems like too much.

It had the steel spur and steel pinion gears in it, went through 2 14t pinions and 1 aluminum pinion before I put the plastic spur back in. Now it's not chewing pinions anymore.

If you run a steel spur, you have to run a hardened steel pinion, the brass, and aluminum, won't last a couple of minutes with that motor. That is alot of motor for a volcano, and on 3s, wow, it will be a hand full.
