Fabricated Shock Towers
Anyone ever thought about taking the shock towers to a fabrication shop and having them fabricate a harder material version of them? After seeing squirelrod's vid of him easily bending them with a pair of pliers just has me wondering if there is something stronger out there.

There are probably stronger aluminum alloys out there, but if you go too rigid, parts have a tendancy to break instead of bend. I have had parts machined out of titanium in the past and they have been very durable, but more expensive than it's worth in the smaller scales. Most of the time, I consider the softness of aluminum a benefit instead of a hinderence since it can be easily repaired and still extremely durable compared to it's plastic counterparts. Carbon fiber is nice, but when it can break as well. If money was no object, I would reccomend titanium. If you are willing to straighten you shock tower once or twice in the life of a car, I'd just stick with aluminum. You could replace them 10 times for the cost of having one machined out of titanium.
