Question Aluminum Servo Saver Upgrade

Hello,

I'm having an issue trying to disassemble the stock (plastic) servo saver to remove the inner components and transfer the parts to the 2-piece saver. The big nut(thumb-wheel type), will not unscrew from the threaded shaft. Is there a secret in getting it off? Is the thread a reverse-thread?

Thanks,
Roger

did you remove the 2 screws that are on the underside of the chassis? 1 screw for each "post" of the steering system.
I almost think if the screw in the post with the thumb nut is loose, then turning the thumb nut will spin the shaft instead of backing off the nut. Turn the nut, and see if a screw on the underside turns. If it does, hold it in place with a screwdriver and then try to remove the nut.

Thanks for you reply. Yes I removed both screws that secures the servo saver arm and the other steering arm linkage. I am able to lift the servo saver (P/N# 02025) out of the chassis after removing the Ackerman arm screw. The problem I am having is I am unable to unscrew the "thumbnail Nut" to transfer the innards to the new aluminum servo saver arm assy. I ordered another servo saver assy to see if the screw will come loose

I was able to remove the nut by using a needle nose pliers to secure the shaft and unscrew the nut
