have you changed the gearing? or the wheels? 250 is VERY hot. safe range for most brushless motors is under 180. some will last a good amount of time at 200-210. 250 can ruin the epoxy.
if you have not changed the gearing or tire size, check for any binding in the drive train. Something is causing the motor to work harder than it should have to.
A fan can bring down temps 10 degrees, maybe 20.

yes traxx 72 tooth spar. i used from 14 up to 19 tooth pinyn thers no binding im putting 2 fans on hop it helps

not sure what the stock gearing is on those, but going up 5 teeth on a pinion gear is a HUGE increase in the ratio and will put a much larger load on the motor. Normally, with a otherwise stock model, you can only go up 2-3 teeth on the pinion gear...any higher and you exceed the capability of the motor and thus it will generate a lot more heat.
