Rampage motor break in.
Hi all,
Just getting back into gas powered RC cars. I received my Rampage Pro V3 32cc 2 stroke motor just a couple days ago and will say it is very impressive.
My question is reading the motor break in instructions, 4 hours 1/3 throttle and 4 hours 1/2 throttle seams like a long time. Is this accurate information, or excessive.
If it is accurate can I break up the 4 hour blocks or does the motor need to be at operating temperature the whole 4 hours?

Run at least two tanks of 91+ fuel (if you can find ethanol free great) with 25/1 oil ratio at idle run the idle rich, then you can run it under load for a tank or two moderately. You will actually see the engine start to run better adjust the idle and high needle for peak and rich both up about 1/4 turn. I caution on a little rich that lean for safety.
