Rampage XB No Start =(
Picked up a used XB with a no start problem the other day and can't quite figure out what's up with it. Was hoping someone might have some suggestions.
Did a compression test and it looked good at ~100psi, I sprayed ether in the carb, but not even a hint of life when I'm pulling the cord. I put an inline spark tester (kind that has the bulb) and it looked perhaps a little on the dim side when compared to when I used it on my (working) my sting trimmer. l did get a minor jolt when I was trying to put a small gap between the spark plug wire and the plug but not sure if that means it's good or not, I tried a brand new spark plug with proper gap, but that didn't help.
The magnets on the flywheel look fine and the clearance of the coil to them visually looked OK (didn't look like the coil got bumped out of position).
Anyone happen to know what's up? Is there a resistance test I can do on the coil?
