Does anybody have any ideas about better offroad tires or tire/wheel sets that would help with traction in grass-dirt?

Check your receiver batteries, the ones in the car. I suspect these are running down.

Alkaline cells just do not hold up very long on these cars/trucks. The servos, steering especially takes alot of current. My advice is to run a 5cell NiMH pack or use the lithium AA's. For the long run the NiMH pack will be better seeing as it is able to be recharged.

Thanks for the line. I will look into the 5cell NiMH pack! For install of pack all I need to do is remove the old battery holder and splice & sodder (spelling?) the wires together? Should I put a hole in the side of the battery box to make recharging easyer, or is that a bad idea, (dirt, sand, grass trap) Maybe a self tapping screw could plug the hole and not let anything in the box.

Does the volcano stx accept 2.2 wheels/ tires I'm trying to find something else besides the stock tires. Plus I've been running the truck in a big school parking lot , learning how it handles, unfortunatly I'm tearing up Burning up) the tread preety fast.

I think they come with a plug that will go into the switch harness. If not just solder the wires, observing polarity.

Do not put any holes in the box, just open it up to recharge the pack.

I am not sure. I am going to go by the LHS to check out what will fit the Volcano.

Be careful with the truck on asphalt, it will turn on a dime and tand to roll very easily.

I have'nt had it flip yet but I have gotten the 180 slide and turn down pretty good hence the need for better tires. I have ran it in the texas dirt/ compacted, crusted dirt. It seems to be at home, but I can't (don't) want to run it at the local lhs till I become better.
Sorry that I ask so many ?'s, my LHS does not like dealing with newbies. How has to say that I don't have 2 or 3 grand to blow am only playing around to find out more about the hobby. Basicly they blew a potential client/ hobbyist. The bad part is the next closest one is across town.

Try the batteries but if not down the road you may decide to switch out the radio system and or servos as your need increases.

i gus bought a new radio and servos on e bay and i have spent over 150 on parts that have broken so i bet i got over 600 tied up in my rc and it still dont run whats up with that i even payed for 2 day shipping and it has been a week still dont have my parts this is the most i have ever spent on a peice of @#$^@ when i could have squezed one out that had nuts in it yall say these cars are good for the price yall are nuts i should have went and bought beer and porn and sat on the couch

thanks darin for your responce i also have a proble, with the front drive axles if you check the book that came with the car in the pic in hte back it showes thatthe axles part # is 06006 70mm they are too short the corect ones is part # 06022 80mm i bought a pair of the 70 mm and need to know how i need top go about getting the my money back im waiting on the right ones now also i paid next day on the wrong parts wonder is i can get a little of that back or mabe some store credit do to all the money i have spent with your company i might aswell have bought your plane ticket to china thanks agean for getting back with me so soon

Just recently purchased a volcano stx. I am new to rc vehicles. I followed everything in the book. When i cranked the truck the engine ran wide open, i turned the truck button to off but it did not kill the engine. It ran wide open for about 30 seconds then died. i tried starting it again but cannot pull the crank rope. I pulled the glow starter off but pull rope is still stuck. Can someone please help me. Don't know what else to do.

hey crazy DO NOT turn the truck "off". This gives you no control over your rc. You need to make sure the carb is not opened to much or it will rev high on you and if that does not work try changing the idle screw. The next time you want to turn your engine off I recommend pinching the fuel line(right before it gets to the carb) or plugging the exhaust with your finger(be careful when you have run it a while though). The pull cord is probably stuck because the engine is flooded. Take the glow plug out and turn the vehicle over and pull the cord a few times. Replace the glow plug and make sure your glow igniter is fully charged and try to start it. If that does not work I am out of ideas for now.



Does anyone have any ideas on a aftermarket tuned pipe for the .18 engine and is there any replacement aftermarket engines that will fit where the existing one is????

Hello to all that are interested in the Himoto buggy and those that are not. I am a beginner in the respects to RC cars. First let me say my brother had gas drag cars when I was young and now that I am older - lets say I always wanted one. During the X-mas holidays I found the Himoto on E-bay after finding out how much the local hobby shop were charging. So I found out what ever one is talking about - "PARTS". I found one Himoto listed as make an offer, so I decided to make an offer on 7 1/10 2 speed 4x4 Syclone buggies directly from Hong Kong. In short if my offer was excepted, I planned on making all my brothers and my children happy and shocked Christmas morning, my offer was excepted. I receivied the cars in 5 days as described on e-bay. The day after Christmas we all got together and ran the buggy's - fun, fun... The buggy's perform well, I do not know what the top speed is but I will find out. We ran them in all directions and used my sons skate board ramps and began jumping. The buggy's endured a lot of abuse that day.
Since then I have found out that the local shops do not have all the parts - you can match up some items, so here is where you can get parts in 7 days - for those of you that do not have time to run out and get parts and the price of gas - shipping cost is very little when it comes to time and driving gas. I recommend when you buy parts, buy 2 instead of 1 of the parts that are more likely to break i.e. lower arms, drive shafts, and even some various screws incase you drop one.

I just received some parts today and they communicate very well via e-mail. The prices are lower than the hobby shop, even with shipping.
I realize hobby shops have to make money, but I am not ready to spend the money on a buggy that I am going to drive hard and play hard. I would rather buy 7 buggy's and give a gift of fun to others and introduce others to the hobby. I truley understand - I was stationed in Okinawa Japan and I purchased a stereo in the late 80's, so I had surround sound theater before any one in the US new what it was.
As far as a quality product -I am Batting 7 for 7 with no problems and I am very happy with the buggy and compared to what I have seen on line, in the magizines and at the hobby stores - the Himoto is made with the same materials as the name brand. The cars pretty much come from the same places. The Himoto comes from Japan and you get it for far less or you can look at it this way "Cutting out all the middle people".
One more thing - there are people in the US listing the Himoto on e-bay - there is nothing wrong - they just opened an account with the people I purchased the cars from, so the Himoto is finding its way here and eventually you will be able to order parts with in the US and hopefully save on shipping.

Oh, I read one posting on tuning, I believe it was J-boy. I have learned that the main adjustment is the needle valve. Under the filter is a small screw - I found out it is the back screw which keeps the carb from fully closing, thus allowing fuel to flow at idle speed. I notice some other reply's with great info on tuning and I appreciate the info as well.

thanks for showing your support to your customers. Kudos on the product, being this is my first nitro rc I'm preety impressed with customer service and how quickly I got my replacement parts. Not everybody has had problems with your stx truck, I for one have had small problems but I think they are more to me being new to the hobby and not having all the answers. Please let us all know when and if you have more parts/ hopups for the volcano (ie tuned exhaust, shocks, tires, compatable battery packs and suspension components).

I found a deal on a Futaba 3PM 3-Channel FM/2 S3003 Servos 74

with all the nicd batterys and charger. Does anyone know if this is a good radio? To replace the am radio that came with the volcano.
Any info would be great.
