I hear that... pullstarts are a pain! even more so when you snap the cord [:@] Now, thats something that Darin should pick up on... I have read so many problems and horror stories about the pullstarts.

ok, the pullstart quality has nothin to do with redcat... so peeps should stop placing the blame on him. If he could do something about it, we know he would . Toki makes the engines for "Team Infinity", which is the engine that comes stock in Redcat vehicles. Toki has been known for their huge shortcuts in engine development, and if anyone has ever had a Fantom Racing engine, you'll know what I mean... same deal there. But as far as pullstarts go, I think its time you guys ditch them and get a bump starter or something! Those P/S (pullstarters) are garbage... not saying every pullstart is, but those on TOKI designed engines are.
ok i wasnt doggin him about the pull starts....so leave me be...all i was suggesting was a roto start as maybe an upgraded version. i never said he had anything to do with the quality.... sheesh. u ppl.[sm=tired.gif]

black the only thingbehind the pullstart should just be the one way bearing. i would save this and the pull starter for backup though. You shouldnt need one, but you never know.

I dont want you to buy the wrong part so let me explain this again, If when you take off your Pull start there is a rod sticking out from the engine (i think this is how it will be) then i have told you to order the CORRECT part. If your engine doesnt have a little rod coming out of the engine, then i have told you to order the WRONG part.

PM me for more questions or clarity.

Tigerdrive's cross reference says its the 689, if it indeed is a SH built engine. Now even I am unsure.

well i see those pins.. but i've never had any problem with em.. and any engine company will say not to use anyother products so you can buy theres.. Take a close look.. very well filtered and good screen. And better air.. Sorry that you had bad luck with em.. I've been very impressed with them.. and no problems when racing.

Hey i've had just about every type of nitro truck in my life and once motorsavers came out i gave them a try and I thought.. and thats being honest that it made a difference.. Now for a fact my temps did go down on the head and block of the engine.. As far as H.P. Torque etc.. It just felt different. I don't have a dyno for nitros.. Well not yet.. lol..

Hi kemo,

I would have to agree with entity, I use that filter on my Truck and i'm buying another one for my stampede when i get it, they much better and plus my angine runs cooler aswell, also i gotta admit i would loev to see a scan of the manual that stats "don;t use motorsaver airfilters" casue to be honest they could get sued for that...
also if you look at a normal car, you put a cone filter on it and you get better performance, i might not be a PRO nitro trucker but i sure know my cars and the similarity has to be in there somewhere, they operate under the same idea just different sizes...

Cheers

you should have a hexagon style rim on the machine you have now. thats the standard tamiya style for many years. as long as you have that.. you good to go.. Just make sure the rims are close or exact the same size. And thats listed on the package or can be found on the sites.. I'm guessing 2.2 cm or inches on the rim size.

I mesured the redcats on my truck and there a hair over 3 inches tall and a little over 2" in width,I know the duratrx has wider meats (more traction = better acceleration)
but would still like 2nd opinion b4 I buy

you need to just really worry about the rims.. the larger the tire is not really that good.. the larger it is.. The harder to turn and harder to turn fast.. Keep within that guidline and you'll be fine.. And type of tread is your choice.. Just dont' go big tires on the rims cause it won't work really well

Im replacing the Diff Gear 1. And while trying to fit the gears back together i noticed:

the gears dont want to fit back in properly, it seems like the Diff. Gear 1 is too big...

Ideas?
