yes I paint all my dogbones when i take em apart for the first time(an old trick I learned way back when with my rc 10)
saves cash and you can also paint to match the trucks paint scheam and it makes the whole area look better when done

Good fix for those rusted dogbones too!

I agree, great idea. Time for me to dig through the garage for paint (I am too cheap to actually buy new paint, lol)

by the way, DiTi, did you say you put aluminum hubs on your truck? what kind did you use? I wanted to go for the aluminum, but didn't see anything too similar when I went to the store and it is really hard to tell when you see pics online.

Hey ehroof do you live near any salt water? If so that may be the reason your dogbones have rust on them.My dad had an auto body shop near va.beach and the cars and trucks around there would rust so bad due to the salt moisture in the air.Just a thought.

i do live near the water but the tornado xp was new in the box with little spots of rust on the dogbones, now i notice both of the redcats dogbones are rusty. i keep them in the garage and clean with denatured alcohol and blast dry with air after every use. they are also kept in a heated garage when not being used. i was thinking that too but it was delivered from redcat with the rusty dogbones.

Hey Diti, Those alum steering arms and door mount look awesome man!! Good job on the mods on the truck. It looks great. I have a quick question, Those alum steering arms and door mount; Do they fit right on the truck? Or you have to mod to make it fit? Also can I use the orginal screws or I have to get specail ones to fit?

Thanks man because I am thinking about getting them.

ok here you go,
http://cgi.ebay.com/GPM-Alloy-Front-...QQcmdZViewItem
http://cgi.ebay.com/GPM-HPI-MT2-Allo...QQcmdZViewItem
or
http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/produc...ducts_id=17868
http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/produc...ducts_id=17869
they are exactly the same,
both manufacturers (GPM and Yeah) make the same upgrade so if you can find an other dealer that has those parts go ahead (rcmart and dinball are in Hong Kong I had no problems, I just waited a little longer to receive them) unfortunatelly, the manufacturers sell only to buisnesses

forgot to mention, those parts are upgrades for the HPI MT2

...perhaps using the actual plastic parts from HPI is not a bad idea either

dont think so...
the volcano has 4 pairs of shocks while the mt2 has 4 single shocks... unless you get rid of the extra ones LOL [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

Do you think i am threatened by your comment, i dont need your help believe me, i have forgotten more in this hobby that you will ever know. I hope everyone reads your comments to me and see's where redcats customer care is going. Before i would deal with a person who leaves comments like you, i would rather burn it.

Hey guys!!!

I have not gone back through all the posts but the pricing was in error on the Volcano parts.

I know that they are fixed on the dealer side so they should be correct on the Retail side as well.

THAT WAS A RELIEF!!!

Thats not even funny , if you talk bad about a product because its junk to someone who might start working for Redcat you loose all your support ?? Nice way to do business.
