Cheers bro. Get out there and do it. It's a whole heap of fun

Hey guys - check out the new "WIDE" buggy tyres from VP Pro. They come in a set of four. Two standard size fronts and two new wide rears. Come in two models - 802 (normal track conditions) and 804 mini pins (blue groove conditions). Going to try them out this weekend. Hey, if they don't work any better than a standard set at least they look cool. Get some on the Redcats and go hard !!!! [>:]
Will let you know how they go. Later - grizz [8D]

802 Wides work very well. Looked at the results from this weekends racing, and my best lap time with the "wides" was 2.5 sec faster than with the other two types of tyres I used during qualifying. Even at my lower level of competition this is a big difference. I didn't use them for the finals as track conditions were very dry and hard by then and nearly blue groove after a days racing. These conditions really suit the 804 model from VP. The 804 also comes in a wide now, so guess what I will be saving my pennies for next [8D]

I just got mine up and running again. I moved back to New York and right now after a good snowfall I am building a track in my backyard on the snow. Heres some pics of my buggy.

Hey euphorik - good to hear from you bro. Buggy looks in good shape, seeing it has had a bit of a rest.
Hmm, Hawaii sun to New York snow, that's a bit of a contrast []
Buggy thrashing in the snow - now that sounds like fun

Hi Alex, You will probably find the bump box you have has been set up for another model of car. I am guessing it has four or more adjustable "stops" that can be moved around so your car sits directly over the rubber wheel that spins the fly wheel. These "stops" hold your car in place so it starts easily everytime.
Most boxes also have an adjustment screw that varies the amount of vertical movement that occurs when you push down to start the car. If this screw is set too high, the fly wheel on your car won't travel down far enough to contact the rubber wheel. Check these two things out first.
The other possible problem is that the ruber wheel is worn down and no longer touches the fly wheel, but this should be able to be solved by setting the screw I mentioned above so that the car travels down further when you push it down on the box.
I would perservere with the bump box. You don't want to get involved with pull starts (which always break) and roto starts. Both of these are nowhere near as effecient at starting your motor as the bump box, and both of them cause tremendous power loss due to one-way bearings and shafts turning while the motor is running, which saps horsepower away from the output of your motor. Good luck. Let us know how you get on [8D]

sandstorm is an ultralight.....if you want a 1/8th redcat buggy go for the hurricane xp...they are on sale right now ($250 I think)....the xp is THE BEST rc in redcats lineup.....or you can wait for the hurricane xrb...the xrb will take redcat to the next level....I have himotos version of both the xp and xrb....you will be pleased with either of these 2 buggies

I'm waiting on my Backdraft 8e. It's officially indoor season here in Michigan and I'm a big redcat fan. The track is big enough to run 1/8 buggy and truggy. I can't wait to get the vehicle and dial it in. I've searched RCU/redcat for anyone with a race report on this beast, I guess I'll be the first. I understand some ppl see these as bashers only but any vehicle can be raced with a little tweaking. I love racing my Monsoon and with a little work done to the braking and tuning for the track it was more than game. Once I get the backdraft in my hands I'll know what it needs to keep up with the vets My first thought though is to switch out the shock towers for aluminum to eliminate flex, work on the diffs and toe. Our next race at "the barn" at washtenaw fairgrounds is Dec 5. I'll try to get some pics and results up assuming I get to run.

Hi team, thought I'd pop in and say g'day.
What's this I read about Grizz being a distributor??
Louis...I am like you and could not part with my r/c stuff, it would break my heart.
If I did sell up I would regret it.
Great to see you still very active firebird, well done mate and top job.
Anyway I have to go for now and I will be catching up with you lot on here over the christmas period.
Cheers guys.
Jason.
